I should pre warn you that this place looks a little dingy from outside. It's a simple style of hawker stall that's located beside a main road. However, we should never judge a book by its cover. It only looks dark from the outside. Once you enter, they have put some lighting to brighten it up. There are a couple of fans but very inadequate. Coupled with the zinc roofing, it can get pretty hot. This is classical local food in local simple setting where it can be a wee bit uncomfortable. But all is forgiven once you dig into their Jawa mee. Simply superb. The saltiness mixed with sweetness of the gravy in it's perfectly thick consistency when mixed with noodles results in the best Jawa mee you can get. Perfect score for me. PSA: turn in and find your parking the moment you reach Petronas petrol station otherwise you will overshoot the stall

Although Mee Jawa originates from Java, Malaysia has developed its own version—adapted to suit our local tastebuds. Even among Malaysians, you’ll find variations, especially between Malay and Chinese styles. Misai Mee Jawa is one such local legend which makes the Chinese version. It may just be a humble roadside stall under a shack, but it’s gained recognition far beyond the neighbourhood—earning a spot on the Michelin list. Their signature? A comforting soup version they’ve been serving for many decades, made with a sweet potato-based gravy that defines a good plate of Mee Jawa. Topped with crispy crackers for that extra crunch, it’s a bowl that hits all the right notes. Of course, we had to try both the original soup and dry versions—both equally satisfying in their own way.

Saw this stall on Google map having a high google rating, decided to give it a try. Little that I know, it is one of the Michelin guide hawker stall recipients. Well, personally I am not a big fan of Jawa Mee. And this place didn't impress me nor it did change my mind. The broth is somewhat very diluted. The ingredients are simple, I just find it okay. I do love the crackers that came with the noodles. That was really good. Sorry, I have had better ones in Penang island itself and this is at most passable. The price is reasonable. And I do love the nice spacious dining place with cross ventilation.
