Came here as per friend's recommendation. We tried their har gau, siew mai, loh mai gai, char siew chee cheong fun and their soup dumplings (siew long pau). Wanted to try their yu kok but it wasnt served to us throughout the entire dining session eventhough we requested for it several times. For us, the only good thing was the prices of the food were reasonable. Other than that, food quality was only average and the service was the poorest among all dim sum outlets that we have tried. Yes, they will bring over a variety of dim sum dishes to your table so that you do not hv to walk to the counter to order and pick up the dishes on your own, but sometimes they do not cater to their customers' needs. We requested for yu kok for 3-4 times but they still do not bring it over eventhough we saw fresh yu koks at the counter and there were yu kok at other tables as well. Besides, we are Penangites and thus we are not well versed in Cantonese. Eventhough they notice our difficulties in understanding and speaking Cantonese, and they themselves can speak mandarin, they still speak in Cantonese whenever they come our table. On top of that, they calculated an extra dish which we did not order and it was a hassle to get the problem solved. All in all, the overall experience was CHAOTIC. The boss should really look into the quality of...
Read moreThis is a very warm and kind-hearted dim sum restaurant. During puasa period, we took our kids to Cameron for a trip and decided to visit Lost World of Tambun since there were fewer crowds. That night, we brought a lot of strawberries to a last-minute booked onsen Airbnb, and planned to leave Tambun the next day after visiting the Lost World. However, the Airbnb not allowed us to extend our stay because it was peak period, and requested to check out by 12pm sharply.
We were worried about where to store all those strawberries. We happened to be eating at this dim sum restaurant, so we tried to ask the cashier if the restaurant could help. She told us that she lived nearby and offered to keep the strawberries for us so we could pick them up after our visit to Lost World. We were so lucky to meet such a kind and beautiful-hearted cashier! Thanks to her, our strawberries didn’t go to waste!
We highly recommend this place! Our child, who is usually a very picky eater, ate two scallion pau, they were savory and delicious! The dim sum here is perfect for both the elderly and children because the food isn’t overly salty, we will go back...
Read moreTo all dim sum enthusiasts,
Think twice before you visit to this particular restaurant! While the food may be average, the service is absolutely terrible and confusing!
Allow me to recount what happened. The waitress who was supposed to take our dim sum order completely ignored us. After 20 minutes, I decided to go to the front counter and place my order there instead. But guess what? Another waitress, whom I suspect is the boss, instructed us to sit and wait for the waitress to come and take our order.
What's even more frustrating is that if you don't explicitly reject the dim sum you don't prefer, they will simply leave it on your table, leaving you with no choice but to suck thumb and finish it.
Furthermore, they are dishonest. As young customers, we attempted to order some iced drink, only to be told that it wasn't available. Instead, we settled for a shared pot of hot tea, which was charged per person. However, much to our surprise, a later customer arrived and successfully ordered a cup of iced coffee!
Till now, I have refrained from leaving any negative reviews. However, this restaurant has been a...
