Before i entered i saw the sign that says max 90 minutes. I totally understand that and i was ready to leave in an hour anyway if the food gets early.
I was just me and the staff gave me sit which before i even called to order told me at 5.50pm the table is reserved for others at 630pm, how ignorantly rude can someone be? I asked the staff how is it possible for me to finish my food by 630pm if ive not ordered. He said itll take 5 minutes to serve. Unless it is a fast food how hell can it be that fast.
But i guess they were trained by their boss, cant blame them if they dont have empathy and lack of common sense...(they are just servers and taking orders either from customers or their bosses).
Staffs look sad maybe underpaid. (just look at the poor reply from the owner justifying everything to make them right, the best by far is the reply to the worm found on the food). So ask yourself, do you rather be spending your money supporting people like this? Based on the reviews below, their food are below average anyway and does not represent authenticity (however hard the owner is trying to defend him/herself).
I went to the next shop right after, the Organic Leaf. Immediately i could sense a change of vibration. A happy vibe! Staffs were great and food was soo good. Thanks to Aroi's rudeness i found a gem next to the black hole. Kopkunnnnnkhaaa
Ps, people go to the restaurant not just for the food but for the experience else we would be cooking ourselves to enjoy the food that we would definitely know to be cleaned and without worms.
Update to answer dumb reply from the owner :
i waited at the door and yes somone did walked me in and directed me to the very table that has been rsvp. He said i could sit there or at the back. At that point he didn't bother to tell me that that table is rsvp at 630pm. I chose to sit at that table. It was only later when i was still flipping through the menu, he came and said the table is rsvp at 630pm.
well if you plan to serve me food with worms which is apparently your signature dish, of course it will take just 5 minutes to serve. But i dont eat worms although i dont deny you might like it.
3)i was in a happy mood actually but as i thought so you would say i was dramatic over reacting ect just like how you have addressed your customers at below comments.
Was here yesterday, I’m a wanderlust and i love trying thai food everywhere i go.
This round its my Nth number of times trying thai food from Bangkok to Singapore. From Baan Ying to Blue Elephant.
A must try in any restaurant is the chili lime fish, i ordered one of it and the other dish is Papaya Salad with Salted egg.
I meant to correct my statement earlier after my wife corrected me. The fish did come with the head ( my apologies to the shop owner) but i couldn’t see it. food came out a bit too sweet for us for our likings, sourness is okay but good thai food must be spicy and sour to its best form. Putting too much sugar, yes it can tone down the acidity and spiciness but it will lose its soul.
Suggestion: Don’t go for sweet, go for spiciness and sourness to tingle with your customer’s taste bud. If a customer cant take spiciness they would not even come to a thai restaurant at the first place. And the price of moo ping is a bit expensive, try making little quantity available because sometimes we just want one or two or make it like a package, every two dish ordered, comes with two pork skewers(moo ping).
Not amazing but definitely good...
Read moreWe’ve been dining at Aroi Mak Mak for years and have always loved their amazing food, but little did we know they also had an incredible team that would make our daughter’s birthday so special!
From the very start, Apple was incredibly helpful—she guided us through the menu, helped with logistics, and ensured everything was planned to perfection. When we arrived on the big day, we were completely mesmerized by the beautiful décor. It was cosy, warm, and felt just right for our celebration.
What truly stood out was the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of the entire team. They made sure every guest was well taken care of, serving each person with so much care and enthusiasm. Their hospitality made us feel not just like customers, but like family.
And of course, the food was exceptional as always! The highlight of the night was the steamed fish with chili and lime, which was an absolute crowd favorite. Everyone kept raving about how fresh and flavorful it was!
