Had an impromptu brunch here with my partner ā my first visit after seeing many posts about this cafĆ© online. We ordered the matcha banana drink, coffee, shakshuka, and the pulled duck gochujang cream pasta. The cafĆ© itself looked chic, the staff were polite, attentive, and well-presented, and the menu offered a good variety of options.
Towards the end, the F&B/Floor manager came over to ask for feedback. We initially responded politely, and when she encouraged us to be honest, we mentioned that the pasta wasnāt to our taste as it felt rather bland. Normally, a professional response in such situations would be something like āThank you for your feedback, weāll take it into considerationā before moving on.
Instead, she asked, āDo you know what gochujang tastes like?ā to which I replied that yes, we do eat Korean food. For us, the pasta just didnāt work flavour-wise, even though it was a dish she had recommended. While I appreciate her effort to engage, I do feel that if honest feedback is requested, it should be received openly without defensiveness. Otherwise donāt ask, full stop.
Everyone has different palates, and as customers we should feel comfortable sharing our opinions without being met with attitude. Would I return? Perhaps. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, based on this experience with the manager, no because I believe no customer would want to have to deal/interact with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChecked out this new place with some friends from our Audi TT group. Love what they did with the interiors and liked the fact they have their own parking compound, which is what most cafes donāt have and itās the important detail when it comes to car enthusiasts! Which I believe they nailed it perfectly. Coffee was quite good, the pepperoni pizza was above expectations though we waited more than 30mins for the pizza. I wasnāt given cutleries for my pizza order, but when my friendās pizza order arrived, he got cutleries. Perhaps need to have training and better standardize SOP when it comes to serving? Had a good chat with the boss Ronald too, very friendly guy! Cutest part is they have a resident cat and it was taking shade under my car hahaha. Overall itās a good hangout spot for car enthusiasts. Would definitely come back and with a bigger...
