Yesterday evening my classmates n I went to this place for seafood dinner. I have not been here for a few years n so the place looks so different now . It’s brighter n is fully carpeted. The air conditioning is sufficiently cool n is quite silent. The acoustics is good cos it’s not noisy at all despite the fact that many tables were occupied with the diners eating n chatting together. In other Chinese restaurants especially those occupying the shop lots , the sounds n voices keep echoing back n forth, resulting in a cacophony of thunderous noise that you have to shout in order to be heard. Here we could enjoy our food in peace. We ordered some of their signature dishes such as a whole steamed chicken, a pork dish, a plate of steamed prawns, stir fry kangkung n a clay pot taufu. We ate rice with these specialities n drank Chinese tea. Our food bill comes to about slightly more than RM 400. So we are entitled to a RM 10 cash voucher to be used by the end of September. This spend n win promotion is on going at present . If you spend RM 1000 n above ,you get a chance to enter a contest n you may be lucky to win a 75 inch TV set. In the centre of the hall, there is a small stage with a very catchy slogan which says : Stay calm and Eat seafood It’s so appropriate! There are lunch promotion sets to choose from. The food is good n tasty n the prawns n fish are all so fresh. The steamed chicken is also juicy n full of flavor. In their tanks are kept alive various types of fish such as the King Garoupa , Soon Hock , Sialkot n the Australian Perch n our local Red Tilapia. There are also the Japanese Geoduck, Scotland scallop Rock lobster n Tiger prawns too. This is indeed a cool, quiet n cosy place for families n friends to gather together for either lunch or dinner. This is the time to come n try out the delicious seafood as the spend n win promotion is on n so is the discounted promotional lunch sets to...

The night began with a warm breeze and the soft glow of streetlights as Ah Lian and I arrived at Pantai Seafood Restaurant. Despite its name, there was no ocean in sight—only the steady hum of the city and the promise of a feast waiting inside.
We had arrived early, just before 6 PM, and luck was on our side—plenty of parking, no rush, just a quiet anticipation of what was to come. Stepping inside, the lively chatter of families and the clinking of chopsticks against bowls filled the air. The display of fresh seafood on ice shimmered under the lights, a silent invitation to indulge.
The moment the fresh oysters arrived, Ah Lian’s eyes lit up. One bite, and the briny, smooth taste took over—pure, fresh, and thrilling, much like the spark between us. The kai lan came next, its vibrant green leaves glistening, each crunch a refreshing contrast to what followed.
Then came the crabs—gloriously thick-shelled, their sauce glistening under the lights. We dived in, cracking shells and scooping out juicy, succulent meat. Ah Lian laughed as I struggled with a stubborn claw, effortlessly prying it open for me like a seasoned seafood queen. “Hopeless,” she teased, but the way she smiled made my heart race.
The chai claypot arrived last, bubbling with rich, earthy aroma. Each bite was comfort in a bowl, the kind of flavor that wraps around you like a warm embrace. By the time we reached the last spoonful, a quiet sense of satisfaction settled in.
As we stepped out into the night, the city still buzzing around us, I realized—good food is a delight, but sharing it with someone special turns an ordinary dinner into an unforgettable moment.
Pantai Seafood: No ocean, but waves of flavor and memories to last a...
Read moreOverall my experience of dining in at the Restaurant was just horrible especially the billing part.
Upon paying up the bill, they charge me extra for tea and also for the wet wipes. We have 11 pax that is dining in. However one is a baby kid that does not drink tea and yet they still charge us 11 pax of tea instead of 10 pax. Reason being whether you drink or don’t they charge by no of pax dining in. Theoretically in all other Chinese restaurants they only charge the no of pax drinking but this restaurant is slightly different than others it’s fine I can still accept since it’s just one pax extra. Dear management what if it’s an infant ? You charge too?
Second issue, we didn’t use the wet wipes as it was all cleared by their staff upon cleaning the plates off the table. However in the bil, it was still charged with 11 pax of wet wipes. We didn’t even managed to see the wipes nor use it then they just charge straight to the bill. As far as I know in all other Chinese restaurants they only charge if you use it.
The issue is not about the price of the wipes or the tea. It’s more of we have given the feedback to the workers that we didn’t use any of the wipes why is it still charged in the billing? Or if you want to save up the hassle to cancel why at the first place you all kept all the wipes and don’t give us the chance to use ?
The staff/workers there are like having no feelings they just want to swap our card to settle off the payment.
The wipes are not expensive it’s just that I felt I’m being cheated.
What about those elderly that does not check or does not know how to see the bil? You guys also just charge this way? Pretty disappointed with their service and ways to...
