This is a post dedicated to a dear friend of mine who invited me and the rest of our car club gang over to a whisky tasting dinner recently. Needless to say the event was a success and in the end, we ate and drank more than we should.
It was a Glenmorangie dinner facilitated by brand ambassador, Christmas (yes that's his name) for a group of whisky enthusiasts (or just plain drunkard) with promotional prices offered to us on some of their core ranges as well as one special limited edition bottle. ◾Few varieties were made available for tasting before, during and even after the dinner - beginning with the Original 10 in its original (neat) form plus Twist (ice & flambe torched orange skin)... A traditional and creative touch to one of the core range of Glenmorangie. ◾We were educated on the story of this distillery while having dinner at the same time ◾Glenmorangie Lasanta 12, Glenmorangie 18 and The Signet were made available too... ◾all the dishes were sponsored by Glenmorangie as part of the whisky tasting - not sure if it was the alcohol effect but everything tasted good that night particularly the truffle infused noodle that got me wowed. ◾ on that night itself, a special limited edition bottle of 21YO Cask 31 was made available for purchase at special price of RM4888 (only 661 bottles are available) and needless to say, one of our esteemed member plus whisky...
Read moreRarely rated so low for a restaurant. Booked two tables. The day before, whatsapp-ed them to ask if we could make early payment/ don't accept any payment other than my sister (name given). Sent three messages, but only gotten an "ok" as answer. When we arrived at the restaurant and offered to make the payment before eating, the staff said someone has made the payment. You might want to reconsider if you want to treat friends/ relatives and there's someone who might pay for you. Booked the 7:30pm slot, food was served at 8pm. It was okay, however, the dishes were served too quickly, two dishes by two dishes. It prevented us from "sembang" a little bit because we had to focus on eating. Starting from 9pm, foreign staffs asked whether we wanted to take away the food, we rejected for few times and said we still wanted to eat. After a few attempts, the manager (I assumed she was) came and asked one of us "do you still want to eat?". I felt that it was rude. The manager (I assumed she was) kept my sister's plate away when she was still chewing her food... There were lots of question marks in my head. How were we supposed to finish 9 dishes (including lousang and dessert) within an hour++?
To be fair, plenty of parking in basement, easy to locate since it's inside the...
