BEWARE WHEN ORDERING. Food taste average. Almost tasteless. Only sour. Not worth trying. We ordered 3 dishes. But came 4 dishes instead. And the waitress insisted that we ordered it. Initially when we placed an order for the shredded pork dish, she mentioned all the dishes were spicy, and not suitable for kids. Hence we told her, then we’ll order the tomato egg. Total 3dishes. Little did we know, she went ahead and add on the tomato egg dish as an extra order. What we expected was, she would have cancelled the shredded pork dish cuz she said that is spicy and not suitable for kids. That’s the reason we ordered the tomato egg. Doesn’t makes sense for 2 adult ordering 4 huge dishes. When confronted her, she said oh.. you didn’t say what to cancel. So I thought you want to go ahead. You can only take away if you cannot finish. SO PLEASE BEWARE AND MAKE SURE TO ASK THE WAITRESS TO REPEAT YOUR ORDER. Common sense will tell you, how is 2 adult going to finish 4 huge dishes. Also common sense will also tell you, if you mentioned the dishes we just placed an order is spicy, and ask us to choose another, common sense she would have cancelled it. All I can say, it was done on purpose. And, making money out of customers. DISHONEST. On to a separate note, dishes tasted bland, nothing special. Not worth visiting not worth coming back again. Read moreBack Again — And Still Worth It. By now, we've probably visited this restaurant six or seven times. And funny how things change — not the place, but us. . We used to order a table full of dishes. Now, we find joy in less. Not because we can’t — but because we no longer need to prove anything to our appetite. . Here’s what we had today: Sour Soup Frog (RM48) It’s been ages since we last had frog. A nostalgic revisit to the taste, this time cooked in sour soup. Not quite our thing — maybe just not used to this version — but the dish itself was fine. Sometimes, it’s about trying, not liking. . Mapo Tofu (RM18) A staple. A comfort dish we often return to. No surprises, but always dependable. . Dry Pot Cabbage (RM26) Our must-have. Crisp, fragrant, and satisfying. Yes, a little pricey, but it never disappoints. A reminder that even simple vegetables, done right, can steal the show. . Maybe one day, we’ll get bored. Maybe we’ll have finished trying everything on the menu. But that’s okay. Because it means we’ve been here — fully. . Will we come back? Yes. . Will we bring friends and family? Definitely. . Good food is nice. But what’s better? A place that feels like a familiar chapter in your story. . . This was my first time dining at this beloved restaurant, though my family has been coming here for years. We decided to try their CNY package (RM988 for 11 pax), and it turned out to be a delightful experience for our family gathering. . The Highlights That Stole Our Hearts: 🐟 Steamed Tiger Grouper – Fresh, juicy, and cooked to perfection. A true crowd-pleaser! 🍲 Braised Abalone with Scallops – A classic CNY dish that never disappoints. It’s our family’s all-time favorite! 🥬 Stir-Fry Seasonal Veggies – The addition of purple veggies made the dish visually stunning and delicious. Absolutely loved it! 🍡 Fermented Glutinous Rice Balls – A unique and fun addition! Dipping the rice balls in fermented rice wine was a first for us, and it was surprisingly delightful. . Room for Improvement, But Still Enjoyable: 🦀 Salted Egg Crab – The crab was good, but we felt it could use a stronger salted egg flavor to really shine. 🍲 Seafood and Chicken Hot Pot – A tad too salty for our taste, but with a little less salt, it would be perfect. 🍰 Brown Sugar Rice Cake – Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, but perhaps not the easiest for seniors to enjoy. 🥟 Dumplings – Decent, but nothing extraordinary. 🍵 Nourishing Chicken Soup – A bit bland, though still comforting. . Final Thoughts: Overall, the food was satisfying, but what truly stood out was the amazing service. The staff went above and beyond to make our gathering special. . Will we return? Absolutely! Will we recommend it? Without a doubt! . If you’re looking for a place to celebrate with loved ones, [Restaurant Name] is definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes! 🥢✨ . . JSE@20250129 .
Read moreAs I have said before, Mainland China's restaurants are blooming all over Klang Valley. Everywhere I go, there will be at least one restaurant around the corner.
Noticed this particular restaurant in SS2 constantly packed with diners everytime I passed by so I pitched the idea to the family who quickly agreed.
◾Sliced Fish in Hot Chilly Oil - spicy and numbing due to the Szechuan peppercorn, yet I could not stop eating. ◾Stir fried Lamb with cumin was my favourite dish of the evening, packed with flavours and prominent cumin taste. ◾Mapo Tofu satisfied my craving for this particular dish which I had not eaten for quite a while. ◾Yangzhou Fried Rice - the rather dull colour belies the true flavour of the plate of fried rice.. it was packed with wok hei and flavour. ◾Tomato Egg Soup - something simple yet everyone loved it. ◾Scallion Pancake - I loved dipping the pancake into the sliced fish chilly soup, but it was already fragrant enough to eat on its own.
It was easier to get a table since we were there early. By the time we left around 7pm++ the whole restaurant...
