This was my first time to this durian shop. They have really good variety of durian available when durian is in season. I really liked how they have a dedicated pick up and drop off area, which makes it easier for anyone who may not find a parking spot yet to drop off their passengers first or if anyone is coming via rideshare. Furthermore, the pick up and drop off area is shaded, providing shade from the elements. They also have onsite toilets facilities and chilled drinking water available besides selling other types of drinks.
Staff are ok though need to be very cautious of choosing the fresh durian. 1 of the staff initially picked the larger sized durian, followed by weighing it then quoted the total price. It felt very pushy and a little sneaky that he did that eventhough the first thing I said is I didnt want a larger sized durian as I couldnt finish a big one. He insisted that I could take away any that I couldnt finish but knowing I will be taking a rideshare, it would be totally inconsiderate to do that. Luckily, he then chose a smaller one of 1.7kg, which turned out to be a really nice one. He opened it up and delivered it to the table. It was good too that he didnt try knocking the durian around to loosen it or do something funny to it. It made up for the earlier shock I had but I would advise anyone coming here to watch closely so that it matches your expectation.
Another aspect I liked for this place is eat the durian first and then pay after. Payment was easy too however do note that they sometimes have connectivity issues and when paying by card, it can take a while. Also I did like the fact that the seating area was cooling, which made it very pleasant to enjoy the durian.
Despite the service experience, I still think that this place has good durian for...
Read moreLet me share l my experience that happened 1 hour ago. I had gone to durian Mann to order some durian for Mother’s Day. I asked around if they had the same grab promotion they have as they didn’t allow self pick up. This one lady was extremely unfriendly and unpleasant, she said no. And I asked if I ordered delivery can I pick it up here and she said “yeah”. I ordered the delivery as they had a promotion, paid for the delivery fee as well but informed the driver no need to come as I’m already there ? He gave me the code and proceeded with his other deliveries. I went to collect it once it was ready with my code and they REFUSED me stating and insisting the grab driver must come and must give me the durian? I tried to explain many times before this lady pissed me off by insisting the grab driver has to be present and asked me to contact grab if he can’t come. The logic is that why would I need him to come ? I’m still ordering from grab and I still paid for delivery fees ? I showed her proof my name was on the order, the order number everything but she refused me. Later one she and a customer continued to bad mouth me stating that I was “cheap” and didn’t wanna pay extra hence I ordered from grab. I mean you have the promotion on grab right ? What difference does it make ? Everyone that orders from grab is cheap? In the economy? I’m truly offended and I felt very disrespected and can’t help to wonder if it was because of my race she acted that way? Please use some common sense. I also have her picture as proof she didn’t even try to help the situation and instead left me stranded for 30 mins not trying to find a solution. DO...
Read moreUpdate on 6/August : here again, rm88/kg (rm 218.68) Kunyit durian which have only 4 biji seed that don’t say top form , it’s not even to B standard.. watery and not creamy moreover a bit sour. We share our genuine feedback, unfortunately the durian man responded sarcastically “醬還不夠好” . Partly because it’s now completely a tourist attraction? Still the one good thing here is there a lot of durian man, you can always look for the one who truly love and know how to choose durian :) Well, durian 101 : look for a durian man who experienced in choosing good durian is the essential trick for eating durian. —- —- —- —- —- —- —- —- —- . Durian liking is really subjective. Here got many choices from black thorn, tekka to D24 etc. Of course majority is musang king. Kunyit always be our most favorite. Actually this time we was look for tekka too however it haven’t reach when we are there. After waited for 1hr we decided to just take Kunyit. Technically October is not Kunyit season but still good enough (out of 4, 1 less creamy) . Can’t imagine if we eat it during season.
One good thing to choose durian on the spot is you can communicate more with the durian man let them know our preference so to choose a suitable durian. However its depend on their experience and intergrity. At least at here, they never fail us. Environment is airy, toilet is clean too.
Tekka arrived after we paid and about to leave. We supposed durian truck incoming normally separate to afternoon and night. If wanted more choices, recommend to...
