Love love love the coffee and food here!
For the longest time, I long for a cafe that has this feel-food factor, with great coffee, equally great food and dessert.. and most importantly, located in the area which I frequently go. Someone must have heard my pray that Extraction Cafe opened its door in SS2 - one of the most notoriously famous for its traffic problem. My first visit was pre-MCO and the first impression was good. Lucky for me, they survived the effect of the disease onslaught and I found myself going back not once, but twice just for their coffee and food. One good thing is that they open early for breakfast which fit my requirement perfectly.
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee and the sight of their sourdough were very welcoming when I pushed the door open. On positive note, the handsome boss who also is an award winning barrista making the pourover coffee will definitely make any heart swoon.
ā¾The Big Breakfast - toasted homemade sourdough bread, German pepper and Vienna sausage, smokey streaky bacon, baked beans, sauteed mushrooms, creamy & fluffy scrambled egg. All in one big plate of happiness. ā¾Sugar butter toast - toasted and buttered homemade sourdough bread sprinkled with sugar. Nothing beats bringing back one of the childhood memories of the past. I remember eating like this when I was a child. Now it's my kid's turn to savour this classic dish. ā¾Grilled cheese sandwich with bacon - don't you love it when the toasted and buttered sourdough has the charred aroma, and covered with generous amount of sharp cheddar cheese on the outside and inside? The only downside? I wish that they were more generous with the bacon.. it was still delicious nonetheless. ā¾Pour over coffee - Guetamala Santa Rosa Finca El Morito.. I have preference for those with strong taste and this had the milk chocolate, butterscotch, and soft citrus notes underneath its strong flavour. ā¾The Duo - two mini latte.. one hot and one chilled served on a platter. The milk that they used was handcrafted with some sweetness inside. ā¾Organic muscovado sugar latte - beautiful sight when the glass was served. ā¾Regular latte - this is one quality stuff. ā¾Tiramisu - classic Italian dessert but with a twist that's made with mascarpone cream, crushed toasted walnuts, digestive biscuits, honey castella cake, chocolate ganache, espresso and Kahlua
Whenever I feel like having a good breakfast, now I have another option to go! Love the sourdough and...

This easily missable simple no frills neighbourhood cafe churns out hearty wholesome food and not only do they roast their own coffee beans, each cup of coffee is made with passion and soul! The owner has won multiple barista awards for his skills!
What we had:
Big Breakfast (RM39) Hearty plate to fuel your day! In-house made country sourdough, in-house cured bacon, in-house made hashbrown, gourmet sausages, baked beans, button mushrooms, scrambled eggs and fresh salad. Iād say itās pretty worth-it as portion is big! š
Tuna Melt (RM28) Housemade sourdough english muffin topped with a generous layer of tuna, extra sharp cheddar, parboiled eggs with a side of fresh salad. Love this creative dish thatās very filling.
Open-Face Tartines (Avo, Smoked Salmon, Egg) RM26 This is a lighter eat for those looking for a smaller portioned yet hearty meal. A slice of sourdough topped with avocado, smoked salmon, hard boil egg and spring onion.
Extraction Ramen (RM30) The char siu was really good! š Literally melts in your mouth. Broth was the milky miso type (if I got it right) and flavour was well balanced and too overpowering.
Earl Grey Roll w/ Coffee Panna Cotta & Coffee Cream (RM19) Yet another in-house made item which is to be praised! Light and soft roll with panna cotta & coffee cream in the middle. Love this!
Tiramisu (RM23) Quite unique tiramisu compared to the others that Iāve tried. It had some nuts in the layers which adds a nice texture.
Drinks: Dirty (RM15): Coffee served in a chilled glass Flat White (RM14) Azuki Matcha Latte (RM18)
Nice place for a weekend brunch or daily...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen visiting this place for years and today shocked me with their new rule. Each person must order one item. We came in after lunch hours, me, my wife, my 10yo daughter, my 1yo baby and my helper. Weāve ordered 2 portions of Big Breakfast and one hot latte. Yet the staff still told us not enough and need us order 1 more item.
My helper had her lunch at home and my 10yo already had lunch in her school. Big breakfast was meant to be shared and yet I ordered 2 portions because I was really hungry. The shop was completely empty, and youāre not even serving free dishes like Korean restaurant (most restaurant in korea practice this to prevent freeloader), yet u still want my maid to order one item. Sheās here to help take care of my baby while we eat la. Understand if u wanna set this to prevent ppl coming in with laptop not giving u profit. But weāre family la and the restaurant was empty. Need stand so hard on this anot? Scared d, not coming here anymore.
Well at d end the staff let us passed with 3 items. And she said my 1yo baby no need to order š
Edit Reply - Apologies accepted. Hope if we go again dont force us on ordering 1 item each can already haha. If is full house we wont go in and make space for your customers. Honest feedback, the food was good which is why we still come back once in a while. Thank you and wish u guys have a...
