I was excited to see this restaurant finally opened a branch in PJ and decided to check it out. On the first day, the line was too long, so I decided to wait until the next day to avoid the crowd. When I arrived around 5:40 PM, the restaurant was about 70% full, and there were 3-4 groups waiting outside. I went in to ask a staff member about takeout, but communication was difficult as most of them are foreigner. Eventually, a manager came over, and I asked where to place a takeout order. To my surprise, he informed me that I still had to “queue outside with the dine-in customers”. This policy seemed unnecessary since other restaurants usually have a separate line for takeout.
Reluctantly, I joined the line and waited for nearly 30 minutes. When I finally reached the front, I was left waiting outside as the staff didn’t seem to prioritize takeout orders. It felt absurd to be waiting for dine-in customers to finish before I could place my order??After finally ordering, I waited an additional 30 minutes for my food.
As for the food, the flavors were average, and I found the prices a bit steep. The restaurant lacked ambiance, and the overall experience did not live up to the hype. I’ve attached a photo of my takeout: the double portion of 花雕花肉 for RM40 and the single portion of 火爆肉 for RM22. To my surprise, the double portion looked smaller than the single! And the 花雕花肉 was really tasteless.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend spending your time in line for...
Read moreI've been a loyal patron for kajang branch Hong Kong Lat Thong for years ... got very excited to find out they're now open at pj.
most importantly it's available for dinner here at pj branch (kajang operation hour only until 3pm)
as personal preference , the spicy soup goes well only with chicken + pork liver (these 2 ingredient compliment the soup a lot) but u can only pick either 1 of them. find it pointless to order pork belly spicy soup
the taste is exactly the same as kajang... using top grade sarawak white pepper corn and quality ginger.
the Chinese wine chicken also equally good as kajang
however, their 火暴肉 (fire bomb pork) was not consistent , ordered 3 large pot only 1 was good. lacks 虾米 (dried shrimp) in the other 2 pot. where else kajang is very generous with the dried shrimp.
always remember to order a can of coke only after you finish eat for ultimate umami feeling
very satisfying dinner and will b my regular place to visit for dinner
take note that their kitchen operation capacity r limited , you may have to wait very long. I queued for 1 hour before had my seat (arrived 7pm) and food only serve 740pm (40...

I visited this restaurant during a lunch hour, and unfortunately, it was clear they were not prepared to handle the crowd.
Dine-In Experience: There were not enough staff to clean tables, and many remained dirty for long periods, making it difficult to find a clean spot to sit.
Food Quality: The food at this location is nowhere near as good as the original restaurant. It lacked flavor and authenticity.
Staff Issues: All the staff appeared to be foreigners, and there was a noticeable language barrier. This led to confusion and several mix-ups with orders.
Service: We had to wait over an hour for just two dishes, two rice servings, and two drinks. Even then, they sent the wrong food, adding to the frustration.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend coming here, especially during peak hours. There's clearly a need for better staffing and...
