Wanted to check out the hype of this new sushi joint in SS2 and seeing the pictures of the long queue, we decided to go earlier. At 11.30am, service was quite fast and we were the 2nd group of customers to be served. Can understand why there's a queue because there's only one server to take orders for individual groups of customers, one cashier and 3 staff making the sushi. As some customers may take some time in making their choice of sushi, this will cause the customer jam, creating passerby interest and free publicity for the shop. I must say they have a tantalizing spread of sushi available on display and customers are truly spoilt for choice. However, on the day we were there, a fly was trapped in the sushi display and even when a customer behind us remarked on the presence of the fly, the staff didn't seem bothered. Customers can choose to dine in if they wish and there are a few tables available behind the counter. There is a central service station for plates, chopsticks, wasabi, shoyu, etc. Green tea is served as green tea bags in a papercup and you'd have to help yourselves with the hot water from the central station. The seating area is very comfortable and they provide nice soothing music to help diners digest their food. We could also get a view of the staff preparing the sushi, stirring the sushi rice, flaming the sushi. Unfortunately, I caught sight of one of the workers preparing the sushi and uncertain of it's freshness, asked her colleague to smell and check whether it was still good. It must have passed his smell test, because she proceeded to prepare the sushi for display. Well, will cross this off my list for future...
Read moreCame here to try out new sushi restaurant in town. I ordered Kids Party Platter and Family Party Platter. Comes with free drinks, wasabi and sauce. There are nothing unique to be highlight, just a another normal sushi restaurant. Is a self service type which you can fill your tea, wasabi and sauce. For the sushi, the compact of the rice is alright, with small ratio of them a bit loose. The seaweed taste is dull in terms of taste and fragrance. The ingredients is fresh. Seating area is limited, based on my estimations any 30 pax. Environment is alright, my comment is that the lighting a bit dark. Temperature not too hot and cold. Parking, is a popular area after all. What can you expect! 😫 On the price point, in my opinion is alright. Lastly on the service, mix of foreign and new staff. Service is alright and there are huge rooms of improvement.
1st Scenario Your staff just screw up a customer right in front of me, old aunty, wanted to make a payment with credit card plug in and don't want to swipe her card. Your staff misunderstood her intention, thought that the customer claimed can't swipe, your staff told the customer to pass the card to him and he swipe it. Your customer face went south and turned black, and your staff didn't notice this
2nd Scenario The cashier doesn't even know how many free drinks come with Party Platter, he went consult the other staff.
I hope you can learn from my sharing if you are seeing this.
Good luck.
I will be back again in the future, hope to see there improvement...

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service I received at your restaurant.
I came in with the intention of purchasing a few sushi items for dinner. However, I was told that I could only purchase promotional items that were meant to be cleared out and could not be kept overnight. When I requested to buy just a few ala carte items instead — as I couldn’t finish the larger promotional set — the staff refused, despite there still being sushi visibly available at the display counter.
Their tone and demeanor were impatient which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as a customer. I understand that there may be policies about end-of-day sales, but I believe this situation could have been handled more politely and with better customer service.
I hope you can look into this matter and provide better training for your staff on how to deal with customers courteously, especially during closing hours. I would appreciate a response regarding this matter and what actions will be taken to prevent similar experiences...
