Got to finally taste the legendary burger yesterday. Tried chicken burger, fillet-o-fish, and hot dog. The patties are definitely not the ordinary "Ramlee" patties, they are homemade patties. The size of the patties are quite thick. The fillet-o-fish taste like a cutlet, you can taste the fish meat in it rather that the usual blend all nuggety taste. They were quick to serve despite there were 4 people ahead of me. On the other hand, the hot dog is a regular one but still taste good. Plus, upon doing some research, I found out that they have only increased their chicken & beef burgers by 70sen, while their hot dog by 50sen in the last 4 years, which I feel a generous move in this era. For first timers finding for the place please don't worry when your gps leads you to a house, as they are running their business in a truck parked outside of their house.
Overall, it was truly an amazing experience for me and I will definitely go back soon. Highly recommended!!
*P.S: it's always wonderful to eat at a place that has been in the business for a very very long time, and it fills my heart too to eat food made by older generation as its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTaste of my childhood. However, the current owners are not the original owners. The stall was originally opened by 2 friends who had failed their MCE (SPM) in the early 1970s. To make a living, they opened a hot dog stall and used to push it around Petaling Garden where I lived as a child. After a few years, they settled on their famous spot near the main road at Taman Jaya which used to be a cul de sac in those days. That road used to be a lovers' lane and many a time as a child, my siblings and I would shine a torch into the many cars parked there to see what they were doing :)
They were famous for their pork hot dogs for many years as beef burgers were not popular with the mainly Chinese and Indian customers then. I was quite surprised when they stopped selling their pork hot dogs and morphed into a beef burger stall when I rediscovered them again a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJackson's Burger is a beloved, old school, decades-old institution in Petaling Jaya, delivering a superior take on the Malaysian street burger. Run by a dedicated couple, the draw is their commitment to quality: homemade, thick, and juicy beef or chicken patties that stand out from the typical thin, frozen varieties. The burgers are a throwback to simpler times, grilled with a fragrant hint of butter and served simply on toasted buns with chili sauce, onions, and cucumber. It's less messy and more flavorful than the ubiquitous Ramly style. Expect a short queue and a satisfyingly classic bite
The burger is a bit small but at least the prices are reasonable; RM6 for all types with add on of RM3.50 for each patty. Don't expect the gourmet burger chains like Burger Lab & KGB of the quality and portion buteat least this can give you those...
