They have quite a vast range of selections to choose from. I have tried almost all of them and its quite nice and tasty. The price used to be very reasonable but recently there is a girl at the counter and she charges people based on her mood. You can take the same dish everyday and she will charge u different everytime. And worst when u see the person in front of you taking much more being charged far less than your own food which is obviously lesser and deserves a cheaper price. I wonder if its a racial thing. But i just ignore it because there is no much choice around that area. Just nice place for a quick bite. The place is always crowded especially during lunch hours since there are so many offices nearby. But rarely i had no place to dine in. Dont expect much on the ambiance as it is a regular chinese food shop. They only offer warm water and chinese tea. So its basically a lunch shop. They usually close by 9pm and everything is sold at a discounted price after 8pm as they just want to finish off before closing. Overall its a pretty good place for a decent food...
Read moreIf disappointment had a franchise, Jia Xiang Mixed Rice would be its headquarters. I paid RM22.40 for a meal that felt like being mugged politely — the kind where they smile while robbing you. The chicken was so dry I almost asked for a lifeguard, the egg tasted like it was cooked during an argument, and the vegetables looked like they had seen the end of the world and accepted it.
The staff moved with the energy of people who’ve lost all hope in humanity. When I handed them my cash, I swear I saw joy flicker in their eyes for the first time — like they just successfully looted a rare item.
The place looks fine at first glance, but the longer you sit, the more you realize you’re not in a restaurant — you’re in a social experiment about regret.
RM22.40 for this? I’ve had breakups that hurt less. If you enjoy emotional pain with your meal, congratulations — you’ve found your spot. If you love yourself, don’t go. If you hate someone,...
Read moreI had a very bad experience here. I used to come here quite often for lunch. There is a talkative but rude Chinese guy at the cashier who is quite arrogant and likes to talk sarcastically to customers. And he would charge more expensive for the same food at different prices - myself and my colleagues confirmed this . And usually at high price.
There is a better economy mixed rice which is cheaper (like around rm2 cheaper than what's charged at jia xiang seksyen14) and they give better service as well. Look for 'Hai Peng restaurant's, which is just across the road from anjappar Indian restaurant nearby.
The only good thing about jia xiang is that they charge cheaper (discounted price) in the evening. But my colleague who still goes there to takeaway food told me they seem to charge even higher than lunch time (for the same type and portion of food) even with the...
