Thumbs up to the food and the dedication of its staff. However, it was unfortunate that our overall experience was overshadowed by the behavior of one staff. My friend and I made a reservation 3 days in advance, knowing the restaurant would be busy during dinner. When we arrived, we were greeted by an older uncle who became visibly irritated and yelled at us when he learned of our reservation, dismissively saying he wasn’t the one who took the call.
While the rest of the staff were attentive and accommodating, our duck order was unfortunately forgotten. After we finished our meal, I reluctantly approached the same uncle to inquire about it. Rather than offering help, he became defensive, raising his voice again and insisting that the duck had to be pre-ordered—something we had already done, and I saw the other staff written down on a piece of card. When I tried to explain, he continued to shout, claiming it wasn’t his responsibility.
If a staff member isn’t able to assist customers, they shouldn’t be put in where they interact with them. Thankfully, the cashier lady was very understanding and apologetic when I shared our experience. Missing out on the duck wasn’t the issue, but being yelled at twice as a paying customer was an unwelcome and unfortunate experience.
Overall, the food was excellent, but the service, unfortunately, left much...
Read moreRoast duck is a food that is loved by many including yours truly. There are many restaurants in PJ alone that sell good quality roast duck - as I am a sucker for a well prepared, crispy skin roast duck. One reason is because it pairs well with red wine.
Loong Fong is not a stranger, having selling this delicacy in Taman Paramount for longest time. Basically a stall right in front of a corner restaurant, it is a common sight to see a queue forming to takeaway. Or just walk into the restaurant and enjoy together with other dishes over dinner with friends and family.
◾Roast duck is the main attraction here and best consumed on the spot as the skin was still crispy. The meat was juicy as I sank my teeth in. Satisfaction to the max. ◾sweet & sour pork was good and balanced with flavours. ◾salted egg squid was coated nicely with the savoury batter. ◾Braised beancurd with minced meat was decent but enough for the kids to mix with rice. ◾vegetables ie. Yaw Mak & Green Dragon + bean sprout
Try to be there early especially on weekends - the roast ducks sell out quite fast!
Note: Other notable roast duck places are Luck Kee opposite which according to my sifu (he's a regular scene in this area) more consistent than Loong Foong; and Sunrise Duck slightly further...
Read moreTheir service really disappointed me.
Haiya queing here and there, no one arrange the sequence, making a pair of old couple waited for long time, holding each other in the crowd afraid to fall down since they're alot of workers rushing in the restaurant but still no one are giving service to the customers that are waiting to be seated.
Thanks to abang, we had our sit after the old couple. But waiting for half an hour, asking for boss to take our order, he end up came up to us and yell at us: "What you want? I'm here dy. What you want?" oh this culture amaze me😳 Ok nvm la, still order la, since coming here from quite a distance. Haiya worst part is here, boss say no more crispy duck after 30mins of waving hand to request for making an order... 🥲 End up we walked away and just payed for the beverage and the boss still murmuring to his colleagues about us didn't have patience to wait for our turn.
Service: ⭐
