Nasi Lemak @ Pak Cu
If you are looking for a good authentic "kampong nasi lemak" that can deliver a punch, look no further, make your way to Gerai Pak Cu at Medan Selera, Jln 223, Petaling Jaya.
The sambal is lightly spicy and delivers a good kick. Got the oomph! Apparently, the Ikan bilis (anchovy) is properly washed and pounded and dried chilli is especially used to make the sambal.
The fried chicken is crispy, juicy and the price is very acceptable at RM3.30 a piece.
The rice is nicely cooked and steamed the "kukus way". You can smell and taste the rich creaminess of the coconut milk. And that is so very flavourful reminiscent of a kampong nasi lemak.
Every grain of rice stood proudly and independently, touching each other but not adhering nor sticking to each other. The quality nasi lemak rice is simply delicious and "kukus" to perfection.
Costing : Nasi bungkus @ RM1.80 Basic Nasi Lemak with egg @ RM3.30 Nasi lemak with chicken & egg @ RM6.60 Additional piece of chicken @ RM3.30
Opening hrs : 3pm till 1 am

The nasi lemak and the fried chicken at Gerai Yatie tasted very ordinary to me, nothing spectacular though many had written how awesome the nasi lemak and fried chicken were. . Gerai Yatie is one of the two very popular nasi lemak stalls located within Medan Selera Jaya 223 in the middle of the food court (the other is Nasi Lemak Panas Suri or Blue Stall at the entrance of the food court)..Their nasi lemak comes with a red stamp (Cop Merah in Malay) on the wrapping so customers called it the Red Stall. They sell only nasi lemak with side dishes like fried chicken, fried egg etc.
It seems there is a constant battle among the customers as to which one is better - blue or red. Whatever it is, both stalls have their loyal customers. It seems the red stall has a sweeter sambal and rice is wetter and the blue stall...
