Penang Chee cheong fun - worth trying

Wantanmee - not worth trying, you have to order and stand there and self service for the wantanmee, charsiew was cut in thicker slices and hard plus dry, but they have a special noodle which is the whole egg noodles, the texture is slightly more sticky and chewy and there’s an egg aroma in the noodles but for the price and service plus the wantan and charsiew was nothing great, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle

Pork balls noodles was normal.

Char Kuey Teow - I think the duck egg char Kuey Teow was my favorite so far, everything to my liking.

Curry mee - the portion of noodles is huge. Curry is quite tasty but I really dislike the ingredients they use, only chicken and some tau fu pok, no cockles no char Siew, no fuchok or long beans etc. quite a huge let down as the chicken meat also taste very bland and dry.

Drinks can only be paid by cash, parking is quite a problem around this area and getting a table to sit is also a problem.

The pros is that there are many many stalls in this hawker and you can order what you want to share if there’s a few of you. And most of the stalls are...

This restaurant is almost an institution around the SEA Park area, having been around for the better part of almost 30 years now. Some of the hawkers who are here have been at the same spot for almost the same amount of time.

While it does cover a fairly large area, as a corner lot shoplot, and the open air area by the side, the place still feels very cramped and crowded all the time. It's not exactly a very comfortable environment to be in, but judging by the never ending crowds especially during peak dining hours and weekends, that's not a hindrance.

The bigger problem is finding a car park spot, which can be quite difficult. I normally drive to the back of this place and try to find a place there.

The stalls inside this place a really quite mind blowing in variety. Some are really good, and some are mediocre. The popular ones are the Curry Laksa, Assam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Koay Teow Thng.

Prices here have steadily rose through the years, but it's still pretty reasonable.

All-in-all, it's a neighbourhood coffee shop that serves the SEA Park and Paramount Gardens area for decades now, and will probably do so for a...

Love the old school kopitiam vibe. Extremely packed with people during lunch time. Parking is a little tricky.

My dad and i ordered a few things which are recommended via google review.

We are Penangite, our expectations on these “hawker” food are quite high, especially since this place has made its round on social media.

Laksa was super failed. The sweet, sour and spicy balance are off. Soup was rather diluted. Personally find it too sour (asam koh/tamarind was overpowering the rest of the flavour). Rm9/bowl.

Chee cheong fun was alright for me but my dad’s benchmark is a little too high because my late grandma used to be a CCF seller who made her own gravy.

Banana fritters (Kin jeo cthze) and Tee kueh kananchoo cthze are both very good. Batters are airy and crispy despite slightly oily. Rm1.8 for each.

Ckt is acceptable but we both agree Robert’s is better. Value for money. Rm9 for 2 big prawns

Ban Zhang Kueh is good for me! But it costs rm3.

Verdict - we wont come back purposely to dine in for any food here. But maybe to tapao the...
