Worst experience ever. I've frequented this restaurant for quite some time now. I've never had any issue with the price eventhough it's a bit pricey cause I love the food. They make some of the best malay cuisine. Today I went there with my bf and he ordered sup campur and I ordered sup daging. We ate in peace but my bf only touched a bit of his as it tasted weird to him. When the bill arrived, he was charged for RM 8.50 instead of RM 7.00 for the soup he ordered. When he inquired, he found out that they actually served him with different soup (sup urat) cause the ingredients they use to make sup campur were finished. Which he wasn't informed. I'm still baffled at how they just decided to change the order for him. They could have just told him they didn't have the ingredients so he can order something else. What kind of a ripoff business are you running? My bf refused to pay for the food cause it's not what he ordered. That alone caused a little bit of a ruckus caused they insisted for him to pay the total amount of RM 8.50 eventhough they were the one at fault. After arguing for quite some time in front of the counter, the cashier asked him to pay for the original soup that he ordered which cost RM 7. He wasn't served with what he ordered and he still has to pay. Their excuse being "Takkan nak bagi kat orang lain. Sape nak makan?" What an utterly pathetic customer service. The only reason he didn't send the food back is because he has never ordered sup campur nor sup urat before so he doesn't even know how it looks like. We only figured out they sent the wrong order when we checked the bill to pay. In the end, getting tired of arguing with morons, my bf gave up and paid them. This is the last time we'd ever dine at this establishment ever again.
Guys, be warned. Check your bill before paying. They could be charging you for something you didn't even order. I've a feeling that they've done this a few times already as the price was never consistent even when we ordered...

In fact my old boss had been in malaysia for 4 years and he had never had nasi lemak... And before the covpocalyid our office was near village park!
Getting back to where I was going with this, as an expat, Jaring can seem a little rough as an establishment if you weren't used to the local restaurants like mamaks, and nasi kandars. I've been there twice this week for lunch and haven't had to eat dinner ive been so stuffed...
Jaring serves Nasi Campur, aka mixed rice. That means rice, with a megaton of different side dishes available. The variety is amazing! Chicken, beef, dozens of different types of fish (I had sting ray today), squid and in different flavours and sauces. I'm a big fan of the beef. Man its good quality too!!!
I've fallen in love with the lady fingers. They just taste so good. Also had mango salad (aka kerabu) which was equally delightful.
Service is fast, and there seems to be plenty of seating (you can pop upstairs).
Beverages are plentiful. Just got introduced to sirup limau ice. Its like two of my favourite things together ❤
I can't believe how much I ate today.
Price is very reasonable for me. However for locals I've been told its a little pricier than most other mixed rice places, but the quality of the ingredients, the beef esp, its totally worth it.
Great...
Read moreI came late on a long weekend, well past lunch hour, and found only a handful of dishes still available. The crowd favourites, the more popular beef and chicken items, have long since disappeared, and customers were greedily scooping up every single morsel to be packed and looking at u with that half-contemptuous, half-gloating look that says 'hands off, they're all mine, serves u right for coming late'. But at past 2pm, there was still enough dishes for the newcomer if he doesn't happen to be fussy. I'd visited this place years ago, and remember being very impressed with the sheer amount of choice available. The dessert tables were still groaning under the weight of the items laid out. Best picks are the pulut seri muka, the ubiquitous red coconut-coated sago delicacy, and a number of other items. U have also the pengat pisang. Lots of tables available upstairs, if u care to climb up to the first floor. But turnover was pretty rapid, and u could still find tables on the ground floor. Service was efficient and friendly. Once u sat down, they'd ask for your choice of drinks and total up what you've taken on your plates. U then took that chit to the cashier once you've finished dining. The place looked a tad rundown although they seem to still be popular and was making money. I only wish they'd invested in making it look a little more cheerful, salubrious and upmarket, instead of looking like a dowdy, lawless place where the rough and ready...
