Had our buka puasa here and decided to make an early booking on the same day just to be safeâgood thing we did because they required a deposit to confirm the reservation. The surrounding area was heavily jammed with after-office traffic, so if youâre planning to come, definitely factor that in and leave earlier.
We arrived around 7:00 PM, got seated, and ordered a set for two. The set came with Tom Yum, Kailan with salted fish, and a fried eggâsimple but classic choices. For drinks, she went with Thai iced tea, while I opted for the coconut ice blended. As buka puasa time approached, the place quickly filled up, and the lively buzz of conversations and clinking cutlery created a warm, inviting atmosphere. It was clear this spot was a favourite among many.
First things firstâthe coconut ice blended. I took a sip, and it was refreshingly good! The ice was smoothly blended with no big chunks, and I could really taste the coconut flesh, which added a slight chewiness to each sip. That texture made it even more enjoyable. A solid choice, especially on a humid evening.
Then came the Tom Yum. The aroma was rich and enticing, with that signature tangy and spicy kick. Taste-wise, Iâve had better, but it was still decent. What really stood out was the protein portionâit was a lot. Honestly, this dish could have easily fed four people. It was generously packed with seafood and chicken, which made it feel like great value for money. Not complaining at all!
The kailan with salted fish was another highlight. The veggies were fresh and crunchy, and the salty, umami-packed fish complemented them perfectly. Every bite had a good balance of flavours, and I found myself going back for more. The fried egg, on the other hand, was good but not quite what I expected. I was hoping for that crispy, airy texture you get with traditional Thai-style fried eggs, but this one was more on the standard side. Still, it worked well with the meal.
Service-wise, everything was smooth and efficient. The staff handled the buka puasa rush well, and orders came out fairly quickly. A special mention to the captain, who went the extra mile by helping me get to my car with an umbrellaâsmall gestures like that really leave a lasting impression.
Overall, it was a solid buka puasa experienceâgood food, great portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. Wouldnât mind...
Read moreFood & restaurant critic here. if "Chinese" muslim and what i see is thai-chinese food, there should be muslim staff in there especially in the kitchen. what i see is almost everyone are non muslim burmese and this raise me concern as a Muslim. I dont feel the food is authentic at all especially the tom yam, it taste using packet paste and not even self made. very chemical kind taste. pad khra pow also does not even have smoky taste and way too salty. it should be less salty and customer can modify the taste as per their preference. almost no one serve pad khra pow without rice. the most normal is either pad khra pow or pad khra pow without rice. how you guys fry the pad khra pow is not even use high heat which is very bad. telur dadar also not worth with the price, it taste like 6 years old cook telur dadar. taste like steamed egg,, not even telur dadar. I can make by using 2 eggs with the same size as your playe. the drinks also taste very bad, too bland and too bitter. the rice is not even use jasmine rice, but using low quality rice. if you are thai chinese restaurant, at least write thai language on menu. i paid more than 150 for 3, not worth for the price. now, me and my friends are having diarrhea and stomache. If you can't cook please don't cook and don't scam customer by claiming "muslim". also, most of the food cooked not even use big fire. the only good is ambience and environment. I was expecting any thai/siam, but no one speaks thai at all. Overall, bad experience. spoiled me and my friend's...
Read moreWe came here three times already and the food never disappoints!
Dishes that we ordered so far:
Garlic lime steamed fish (10/10) - the star of the show. amazingly good! the tangy, sour, sweet are all well-balanced. fresh fish served hot. they even provide extra sauce on the side. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Garlic beef (10/10) - one of our favourites! the meat not too dry or too tender, just nice. recommended for kids because the dish is not spicy.
Mango salad (9/10) - a bit spicy to our liking but still gooood!
Thai sauce fish (7/10) - too sweet, tastes like sos cili thai curah kat ikan goreng. But the fried fish was perfectly cooked.
Kangkung salted fish (6/10) - the fish sauce was too strong, and no salted fish on sight lol. Kangkong was fresh though
Tomyam soup (5/10) - we tasted better tomyam somewhere else
Green curry (8/10) - too rich for us đ nevertheless still one of the best green curry out there
Keongsom fish - no comment lol because the sauce had some unusual spices combo that we were not used to
Thai green tea (10/10) - MUST ORDER VERY GOOD
đ” Price wise - on the expensive side for thai food but believe me IT IS WORTH IT
Will we come again?...
