There are many Sopoong branches all over the Klang Valley since their first one in The Starling Mall many years ago. This outlet in Citta Mall is probably one of the "prettiest".
The dining area is split down the middle and separated by a row of faux plants. The seating space is comfortable and well separated. The decor colour is also very simple, with all white tables and chairs with a contrasting wall colour or mirror, giving the room a very light and airy feeling.
The menu is basically the same as in any other Sopoong, the basic Korean dishes are all here, the sets are also here. Prices are reasonable, while pushing a little close to the high side on certain items.
As I was there for a small family dinner, we managed to try out a few different items. I had the Bulgogi rice set, which had a bowl of fried rice with bulgogi beef along with a bowl of udon. We also ordered some fried chicken (two types) and a dakgalbi set as well.
Even though the place was almost empty, the food took just a little long to arrive I felt. Still, everything came out piping hot. I enjoyed my Bulgogi rice, the dakgalbi tasted OK, nothing exciting. The fried chicken, though, was another story.
I felt that the chicken nuggets were not quite fresh, as the meat was quite crumbly. Also, I could taste the flour coating, meaning that the chicken was fried long enough to achieve a crispy coating. It didn't matter which flavour it was since the chicken is fried the same way before it is coated with the flavour of choice.
Oh, and please be a little more generous with the banchan, rather than making us have to order again and again.
Prices are as what you would expect to pay in a Korean restaurant, and my meal for three came up to around RM160.
All-in-all, the food wasn't bad, but I think I can find better tasting...
Read moreIt's been a long time not dine in Sopoong outlet. I was overestimated as I thought this outlet might be better than other Korean Halal Restaurant. Or I thought it already improved since last time (past few years back at another outlet) I went which is such a dissapointed experience.
This time around the time I was dine in, it was just me and 2 other customers.
Service speed: Okay
Price: Comparable with other brand BUT
Qty: It seems like a meal with small or less ingredient. Feel like the amount (RM20+)I paid was not justified with size of meal I received (only 3-5pieces small pieces chicken from my Ttukbaegi Bulgogi. With some glass noodles and vegetables. Side dishes very little,.might as well don't give it to me at all. Not making any different.)
Taste: Not sure on the freshness of the meat/chicken. For sure not taste like a fresh chicken.
I bought also a Gimbap, take away. The taste is okay.
All in all, I think I will only revisit here if don't have...
Read moreCame back to this restaurant last week and it's a new level of disappointment. The food went downhill. Kimchi pancake was a disaster - oily, salty and burnt. The staff hasn't improved much since the last time I was there - they look lazy, walk loudly and not friendly Newly opened in Citta Mall, Sopoong serves nicely cooked Korean dishes and desserts. The restaurant is clean, friendly and conveniently located for those who live in the area like myself. I also like the fact that the music isn't too loud. However, the waiting staff need to be more professional. They don't know the menu at all. It takes them a while to write down my orders. They also mess up with my orders and when I ask them to check with the kitchen, they do not come back to me; I have to ask them again to have the answer. Their attitude is unacceptable to m .as normally Korean restaurants are best with...
