I came here specifically for the Sister's Curry Mee. Apart from their famous curry mee, they are also quite well known for their beef noodles but this area has 2 other good beef noodles already, so I'll concentrate on the curry mee. Owned by 2 spritely and wily ladies, the stall is clean and they are will ask you your preferences. Asked what type of noodles I wanted, I went for the yellow egg noodles with beehoon. Then asked whether I wanted blood cockles, I said yes. What I didn't know was, they charge a hefty RM 3.00 extra if you want blood cockles! I think that's what many reviewers were miffed about as it raises the price from RM 9.00 to RM 12.00 for a bowl of noodles. For those who aren't savvy about kopitiam noodle prices in KL/PJ, prices range from RM 7.00 to RM 9.00, depending on the establishment. And I felt RM 12.00 was on the high side too. As for the dish itself, it was generous with shredded chicken, puffed soya and long beans and, of course, blood cockles (quite a generous amount, actually). The soup is rich and delicious and overall, it is an above average bowl of curry noodles. Having said that, it's neither curry chicken style or a Penang styled but somewhere in between and I would risk saying, an original taste. Would I recommend it- yes, but skip the cockles if you're not a big fan and it'll still be good. BTW, the Teoh Choo porridge looks good too. Maybe I'll come...
Read moreHeld back on the rating becoz theres way too much hype on the curry laksa. Please dont get me wrong, the curry laksa is decent but nothing special as many other stalls have come up to this level, some surpassing it. What i can say is, portions are small here. Also had the beef noodles from the same famed stall, again small portions but still decent but definitely not worth it. Just my personal opinion.
However whilst you are there for nostalgia or curiosity of the hyped curry laksa. Do try the Pan Mee. This really surprised us. Really good, in fact i would go for this over the curry laksa or beef noodles anytime! Portions are good value too! Its a shame that this amazing stall gets overlooked.
On our second visit, we went straight for the Pan Mee and we were very impressed by the stall owner's pride in the quality of her food. She refused to hand over a slightly overcooked pack of noodles to a customer. She recooked a whole new pack! Not wanting to waste the pack, she gave it to us FOC but told us that the noodles are overcooked. We had it and yes slightly, only slightly overcooked noodles but everything else spot...
Read moreThis is the famed Sister's Curry Mee in Seapark. Are they any good? Yes, they are but unfortunately not the best. The ingredients is fresh especially the cockles which is a good indicator. Comes with the other usual ingredients like long beans, tofu puffs, bean sprouts, poached chicken etc. To be honest I ordered Large and the difference between Small, hardly noticeable and portion is still small. Now the important part, is the Curry any good? Its flavourful from the curry spices and there's a sweet after taste. It's not spicy and the coconut milk is just nice. You can literally drink the entire curry soup without the guilt or throwing up. Overall, it's a love or ok only bowl of Curry Mee. Not bad in my books but for me it's the one in O&S is the benchmark for good Curry Mee. Also tried the Char Koay Teow, not bad as well but lacks a bit of flavour (add a bit more soya sauce will do) and "wok hei". Both are good alternatives that won't disappoint but don't go with high...
