Nasi Lemak Bumbung - A Must-Try for Fast, Flavorful & Fantastic Nasi Lemak! 🍚🍗🌶️ Nasi Lemak Bumbung lives up to its reputation! This place is a well-oiled machine, serving up piping hot and utterly yummy nasi lemak with incredibly fast service. It's my go-to whenever I'm craving a truly satisfying local classic. The star of the show, besides the perfectly fragrant and fluffy rice, has to be their flavourful and wonderfully crispy fried chicken. It's cooked to perfection, offering a satisfying crunch with every bite. But for me, the sambal is what truly elevates this nasi lemak to another level. It's got that perfect balance of spicy and a delightful little sour tang, which is exactly how I love it – thankfully, it's not one of those overly sweet versions that can sometimes disappoint. Even the little details are spot on. The aromatic rice is a treat in itself, and the fried peanuts come with a lovely hint of fried garlic, adding an extra layer of flavour and crunch. The portion you get for RM9 is incredibly generous, especially considering it comes with a substantial and juicy chicken thigh. It's fantastic value for such a delicious and satisfying meal. Be warned though, this place is always packed with people at night – a testament to its popularity! My advice is to arrive before 8 pm to avoid the inevitable dinner crowd. Parking can be a real hassle right by the restaurant. Save yourself the frustration of circling endlessly and park a little further away and enjoy a short walk over. Trust me, that little stroll is a small price to pay for the delicious nasi lemak that awaits you at Nasi Lemak Bumbung! Highly...
Read moreTLDR: A cramped nasi lemak eatery that serves cheap but good nasi lemak!
The actual seating area is in between the two rows of shops, a quick look around didn't reveal any hygiene issues but pickier people may want to double check. The line was long as we arrived, but we were seated within 5 minutes as the waiters opened more tables in the back. Luckily for us a table just opened up and it was cleaned quickly so we could just sit down.
The menu is very minimal. The Nasi Lemak Ayam comes standard with rice, cucumber slices, roasted peanuts, fried egg and one piece of fried chicken. For RM7 a plate this was incredibly decent. The rice was fragrant, sambal was okay (and more importantly enough was given that you don't have to order more) and the fried chicken was marinated with some mint so it was a fun eat. My only complaint was that the drinks arrived late and by late I mean AFTER we had eaten everything off of our plate.
Our total was RM20 for 2 plates of Nasi Lemak Ayam, cold Nescafe and Milo.

Read moreI could clearly remember when I first saw the review on Axian. It was a moving story, from a near failed Nasi Kandar business to what it has become today. One of my favourites for it's unique and tasty version of Nasi Lemak Ayam. Quality and standards have pretty much remained the same, well maybe the chicken has shrunk a bit. Nevertheless, it's still a good plate of Nasi Lemak. Rice is fragrant but considered faint in terms of coconut richness. Sambal is not too sweet and is now quite spicy. Strangely it's not like the usual Chinese or Malay style. It's unique and closer to Sambal Tumis. The chicken is well marinated like Ayam Goreng Berempah with strong hints of black pepper and bunga cengkih probably. Seriously satisfying. Got a bit greedy and tried their Pulut Mango. Also quite good. Pulut is perfectly cooked where it's not mushy nor undercooked. Add in the super rich coconut and scoop some mango, it will put a lot of Thai restaurants to shame. Too bad the Mango wasn't top grade, still sweet and fragrant but not like those Harum Manis or Chokkonan grade but that would cost even more. Nevertheless still good in my books. Recommended drink here is the Lime Juice which tasted more like Calamansi. Perfect! Milo here is quite dilute compared to previously. Overall, they are still good as it...
