SWIG (Restaurant & Cellar @ Megah) — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Reservations Request to reserve a table at their Megah outlet but was informed of an event hence had to choose other outlet. Made reservations for Section22 outlet paid Rm100 deposit for the tomahawk promo.

I was then given the menu to pre order any ala carte items in advance. I asked if we can order on the day itself but they replied they have an event hence to pre order but if i want to order on the day itself, we can go to Megah outlet. Wait? Didnt they say Megah outlet is having an event? They replied yes and it will be noisy but you can dine in. I just proceed to book Megah outlet and requested for a corner table furthest from the stage. They replied Ok.

Arrival Time Walked up and entered but no one welcomed us but possible they were busy. I walked to the cashier and told them about my booking. Took sometime to respond to me. I asked is there a reservation under my name. He replied with a little uncertainty and I showed him my messages. He saw a deposit was paid and he say yeah you pre order the sri lankan set right. From that moment we knew the night can only get more interesting.

He then asked me where am i sitting. I replied saying shouldn’t you be guiding me to my table. He replied you can sit further in which is nearest to the stage. I told him i requested to be placed furthest from the stage. Someone whom i believed is the manager/owner made some adjustments and we got a table nearest to the entrance which to me wasnt what i would expect after making a reservation.

On a separate note, my friend went to the wrong outlet at section 22 and realised it was closed/under reno. Imagine if we didn’t change our reservations to...

Went here with my friends. The wait was really really long (Between 1 - 2 hours wait) for each dish to be out but at least the food was worth the wait in the end. Luckily we were well entertained with each other's presence and the live band.

The service was good despite abit of hiccup of the drinks order. Do note that most drinks which are not alcoholic were packet or can drinks. Cocktails were not available during my visit.

The ordering app is abit confusing with overlapping of each other's order at the same time in the add to cart order. Advisable to have just 1 person do the ordering.

Food: We ordered their Mushroom Pasta (comes with Edamame), Devon Angus Ribeye 300g, Angus Striploin 500g and I had the Lamb Shoulder (Comes with Nagka strips and Potato Cubes). The price is abit pricey for the portion wise, but the meat was very well cooked accordingly. The steak and the Lamb meat was tender and juicy!

May think twice if I would want to wait long if I were to...

-Unfortunately, can't say same for the shrimp tapas. Look at the photo of the cooked shrimp.

Either the cook didn't understand his "fire" or control thereof, or the shrimps weren't fresh. Shrimps not crunchy, almost woolly. Pity, since the oil in which the shrimps were bathed in was really fragrant and tasted good.

-We thot the M$10 gin tonic "on offer throughout the evening" was a real deal. Unfortunately, it came barely 150ml, with the ice.

If it's not told to customers, then it's not unreasonable that we expect a normal shot of 200-250ml per serving BEFORE ice added.
