Texture, but not taste? This review will be on Strawberry Mint Cake, Cendol 2.0, and the Imperial Matcha. Do note that everyone's taste palate is different, so to each their own.

Strawberry Mint Cake (RM35) was appealing. IMO, the strawberries were slightly too sour, but I love the subtle mint flavour and packaging. However, my boyfriend didn't notice the mint. Nonetheless, he was really impressed by the texture-play.

I've never been in a more awkward situation than I was when I brought a Cendol 2.0 from Texture by C3 Lab in Atria to my boyfriend's family's open house. The cake appeared AMAZING, and it was indeed beautifully crafted (on the outside). We all had high expectations when we saw it, and we were all so excited. However, the cutting process, even after putting it in the chiller for at least 4 hours as recommended, was rather challenging. The bottom was so difficult to cut through that one of the guests joked and said it was as hard as coal (just let me hide in a cave, thanks). The taste was so non-existent that the dining hall went quiet instantly. Am I being dramatic to say, I really wanted to cry? I never felt so humiliated and embarrassed. Moreover, this was an RM160 cake, was it not supposed to be outstanding with that price tag?

Imperial Matcha was the best among the three, but it was still just okay. Strong flavour and great texture (again), but the middle part was somewhat too bitter.

To end this, we do notice the place was immaculate, and we love the attention to detail. Will I ever revisit this place? Well, as contrary to their About Us, I won't come back for more. Maybe we're not "atas" enough for this, but I'm sure many more will enjoy the place regardless of our...

TLDR : Cake delivered 5 hours late and wouldn't even have been sent if I did not waste 2-3 hours trying to reach them and following up as they weren't even aware they had an unfulfilled order.

Ordered and paid for my cake to be delivered a week in advance. Arranged for the earliest delivery time slot, I picked the 11am-1pm delivery time slot. I received an email confirmation after payment saying that I would be notified once the cake was delivered.

Came the day of the supposed delivery, it was past 1pm and I heard nothing from Texture Patisserie. I immediately reached out to them via multiple channels and gotten no response. After multiple unanswered calls, finally somebody answered the call at 2PM . I asked about my order and she tells me that the rider had cancelled the and cake was not picked up.

Nobody knew and nobody bothered to check if orders were fulfilled for the day. I asked, if I did not make the call to check, my cake would not be sent on that day? She said yes, correct. I was dumbfounded. There wasn't an apology, or explanation, nothing. Just "Rider cancelled, we don't know".

In the end, my cake was delivered at almost 5pm, 5 hours late from the promised timing. The cake was just left out unreceived by the receiver as he had already left for the day.

I actually previously had left a not so good review but decided to go back there and honestly had a good experience. The service was good, attentive and well trained. My mum and I had a dessert each and they were both very nice . They were beautiful, not too sweet and a delight to eat I am glad I came back to this place even though my first time wasn't great, as I really enjoyed the experience. Went back there again with my daughter and had a great time. Stayed there for almost 3 hours and enjoyed our time very much. I had the sourdough smoked salmon and avocado toast, it was delicious. My daughter had a verrine dessert and she loved it too. Her coffee was very good tastewise and super cute with a bunny on it. She didn't want to drink her coffee as she didn't want to spoil the bunny. Absolutely stunning it was. We were given 4 dessert cubes for free with black sesame dessert, matcha tea, chocolate with berry tea dessert and peach mousse. They were all delicious.
