Dropped by for an early lunch last Friday after a 3-year hiatus—our last visit was during the lockdown days when takeaways were our only option. This time, we dined in and it was well worth the return!
We ordered two Hakka noodle sets—one with their signature Char Siew and the other with Siew Yuk (roast pork belly). The noodles were perfectly springy and lightly tossed in fragrant pork lard oil—simple yet addictive. The Char Siew was the real highlight: thick-cut, beautifully caramelised with a honeyed glaze, tender with smoky, sweet edges. The Siew Yuk offered a satisfying crunch with every bite—crackly golden skin paired with juicy, well-layered pork belly. We shared our portions so we could enjoy both meats—and trust me, both are must-tries.
We also shared a bowl of Siu Gao (prawn and pork dumpling) soup, and it was a comforting bonus. The dumplings were plump and silky, with juicy fillings of minced pork and shrimp that burst with umami in every bite. The clear broth was light yet flavourful, subtly seasoned to let the dumplings shine.
Sally had a comforting hot barley drink (unsweetened), and I sipped on Chinese tea, which paired well with the rich flavours. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices? Fair and reasonable for the portion sizes and quality.
The restaurant was clean, air-conditioned, and not crowded when we arrived, which made for a quiet, relaxed meal.
All in all—fresh ingredients, generous portions, great flavours, and that nostalgic touch we didn’t know we were missing.
Definitely a spot we’ll return to. Highly recommended for Char Siew lovers!

We have passed by this place many times before. We heard it's famous for it's signature char siew. We decided to drop by the place after we visited a vegetarian eatery nearby. The place has set up an ordering and SOP counter at the front of the store. After entering their contact particulars and temperature check, customers can view the menu to order the meals for takeaway only. We decided to order the Hakka noodles set topped with the signature roast meat to try out. Service crew are attentive and efficient. Prices are competitive and reasonable. Parkings are a breeze due to the ongoing lockdown as most folks...

Comfy place, tends to be crowded by lunch.
I ordered the Turbo Meal consisting of charsiew, roast pork and chicken, Contonese ordering goes by the name of 'Sam Yong' which translate to 3 varieties.
Food taste okay, portion is abit small for the price but the quality of the roasts are extremely good. You are paying quality over quantity here.
Rice, the most important aspect in the chicken rice part, is fragrant and seasoned to thr right taste, not bland and not too salty, the perfect match for good meat.
Chicken wise, the tenderness of the chicken gives you the enjoyment of life.. They smoke the chicken to perfection and you can taste the smokiness too. They also do not drench the chicken with sauce which i guess is for you to taste the full flavour of thr chicken.
I am not a big fan of Siew Yoke a.k.a the roasted pork belly but a standard Siew Yoke must be slightly salty (which goes together well with the rice), with a hint of the spice, a good visual of the crispy skin, the meat-fat-meat-fat layer which they are serving the slitly skinny part of the belly which i am totally okay with.
Here comes the best part of the meal, the Cha Siew... Extremely sticky outet part, the fatty part basically melts in your mouth.. i was lucky to have all part of the meat, the extremely fatty one, the 5050 and i also have the Char Siu Tao (the end part of the char siu which is not for the faint of heart), this comes down to your own preference and yes all excel well. Taste? The Char Siu is not overly sweet and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. To add more sweetness, it comes with a dipping sauce. I'd give a 5 star on the Char Siew.
Not to forget the condiment, the chillie, fragrant and good visibility of the ingredients they use.
Overall, 4 out of 5. What is missing? A small bowl of soup to make it a solid 5.
For those who are looking for quality meat, this will be the place, need more? Order the ala carte. I will be back for more for hakka noodles and...
Read moreI once regard this place as "the best char siew" in town... I purposely drove all the way to SS2 early in the morning because of the char siew alone. Then Sean & Angie moved to nearby Chow Yang area. Business is still good for them and they have since added many items in the menu.
After the satisfying breakfast in Butterworth, we headed down back to Klang Valley to meet another customer. I asked to meet there because during the MCO, I suddenly missed their char siew. Still doing brisk business especially during lunch hours, we managed to find a table and proceed to order.
◾char siew - their piece de resistance... Perfectly caramelised and lightly charred on the outside, every piece literally melt-in-the-mouth inside the mouth. I wouldn't mind ordering a second helping if I were not that full at the end of the lunch. ◾smoked chicken - love the smokiness and the tender chicken meat. It really made the difference between the regular chicken and this dish.. the glistening skin only made the whole dish looks more appetising. ◾mee pok and Wantan mee - love all the crunchy bits that came with the springy noodles.
Honestly I used to like just the meat part and nothing else because in the past, I thought that the noodles were mediocre at best.. but they have certainly improved on every aspects since. Gotta make more breakfast or lunch stops in the future.
P.S: their char siew is still one of the best (if not the best) in...
