One of the best South Indian Chetti (less pedas 👍🏽) restaurants in the whole of PJ imho. Been living here since the 80's and have dined at almost every South Indian (Malaysian) restaurant in PJ and neighbouring districts. I won't elaborate on the details, except to say that it's overall very good, with good attention to detail and fair pricing and serving sizes. This overall verdict is for their veg and non-veg dishes that you have for lunch/dinner with rice. I haven't tried a lot of the other items, as I usually just come here and bungkus/tapau. Parking is limited so it's best to come with at least two people in the car, so one of you can go on and takeaway. The sitting and interior is not that nice, and that is to be expected for an older shoplot in this new village area. It's clean though. Their.older and original Gerai Makanan Usha, is likely still in the PJ Old Town food court. I have also noticed this Usha outlet on several delivery platforms but haven't ordered there or compared the price yet. They claim to operate 24 hours here, but you likely won't get the full spread of meats and veggies in the late night and early...
Read moreWent to the place about 1130, they were still bringing out good trays but can see most of the empty slots was full There were many varieties of meat dishes but there was definitely more vegetables dishes , some of which I have not seen before.
I took assorted veggies which include sambal petai ikan bilis and single meat, chicken varual. The bill came up to RM 16 which I was reasonable . The taste of the chicken was above average ,the veggies was also about average. The sambal in my opinion was a bit too salty but pair with rice was ok. Street parking is limited though I noticed there was a payable parking lot opposite the restaurant, I did not see any sign indicating price. I'm will come back to try the other meat dishes and also the other...
Read moreOld school, mess-styled set-up with outdoor and indoor air-conditioned seating. Dropped by after visiting digitald nearby. Found parking by the mainroad, so i had some tea with roti right before it poured. The roti was like the days of past - it covered the mess plate, non-oily and slightly crispy. The fish curry had thickened into a wonderful slurry. Added on oyster mushrooms in curry and cabbage fry. Told my better half about it - she also asked for one to try at home!Affordable and tasty. Importantly, it reminiscent of the good ol days. Honest, hard worked-up meals for the humbled class. Keep up the good work. Thank you! Returned for dinner. Great they had hot...
