Won't be visiting again. We felt this place does not welcome any large group gathering, and especially if with young kids.
Had a large gathering of 22 person including 8 kids. Read good review about this place and chose this place. However throughout the meal, we were given nasty look by lady manager at least 3 times.
Came in large group for pre-christmas gathering with strollers, bags of Christmas presents. We tried to spread to a few tables. However the manager immediately asked us to vacant some tables, requested to sit on the table allocated, and put 'Reserved' tag on tables around us (indicating we should't use other tables). We can understand if the place was full, but throughout the period, the place was quite empty.
1 hour into our food, a group of around 10 guests kept staring at us. The lady manager asked us have we done with our food. The guests would like to have our table, because the other tables are too small. We were shocked at the service because we still have unfinished food on our table, and we kept on ordering. Does this mean we can't eat slowly, have gathering and chat?
One of the kid (1 year old) vomited on the floor. The manager immediately showed us a nasty face, saying 'that is the owner room', you should't go there. However the room was unlocked and does not have no entry sign. We were sorry this caused trouble for the staff, but it was a toddler.. However the manager immediately open up all the door, switched off all air cond, as though we were NOT WELCOME anymore.
We paid our bill and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately we had a very bad experience here. Food were really really so-so for that kinda price, RM29(include tax) for a normal very dry chicken chop, rm29 for a kosong carbonara. We reserved for 24pax for 3pm. And wasnāt told there was a dining time limit. Come on la, 24pax gathering you expect us to eat one hour and say bye bye meh? this cafe was beside a philharmonic hall or something, by about 4pm the philharmonic orchestra ended and people came flocking out, the auntie staff there came and asked us to clear off one table because they were quite full. Then??where the hell was I supposed to sit?? After reasoning with her we get to keep our table. In the area we were sitting, There was a glass door into an empty room with a long table and I brought my 2yo in there to walk about because our seating area has became a main walkway from the philharmonic orchestra hall this restaurant counter. A lot of people walking pass so dangerous for kids. Suddenly my 2yo vomitted. Yes it was my fault cos heās my baby so I was getting tissue to clean up the floor. Then the auntie came to my friends table and scolded us, āTHIS ONE IS OUR BOSS DATINāS ROOM YOU KNOW!ā So?? If it was a so damn important room please put a No-Entry sign la. Why are the aircond and lights all on woh??Shortly after that, they also switched off the whole area aircond to chase use away already. So we paid and left lor. And WILL NEVER RETURNS. And give them an honest review here. Just saying there are so many better cafes out there instead of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās a cafe next to DPAC in Empire Damansara. The parking garage seems a bit dodgy and does not seem well maintained.
The cafe itself is chic and there are plenty of opportunities for Instagram-able shots.
The food is decent. Had the eggs Benedict. The poached egg was not as oozy as it should be (slightly overdone)- this is likely a sporadic issue. The hollandaise sauce was not the best Iāve tried - bland and didnāt really do its job to enhance the dish. However everything else on the plate was scrumptious - the sweet potato fries, croissant, smoked salmon and mushrooms.
The lemon tart was suitably ātartā and tangy. Not too sweet. The crust was slightly too hard but the overall taste was still acceptable and quite nice.
The croissants in general look yummy (they have a good selection, priced from RM9-12, pre tax). Think this cafe would be a nice spot for a little afternoon tea with friends.
Limited outdoor seating is also available.
Service could definitely improve. Perhaps like most places after MCO, they seem to be understaffed. They could improve on the cleaning of tables after patrons leave (promptness) and also the attentiveness / proactive-ness of clearing your table of the dishes before serving dessert.
Here, they do not come to your table to take your order. You order and pay at the counter. Food will be served at your table. This concept may probably be more suited to small groups...
