Very interesting place - unlike any other place I've been to in Malaysia I think. Even now completely vegan restaurants are pretty limited here so the fact this place is in this location is already noteworthy but then the atmosphere is so homely it was about as close to going round your friends for dinner as I think you could get in a commercial setting. There's even a very small dog called Snowy.
Partly because It's a small place, pleasantly lit imo and decorated with some interesting items including a drum kit!! But also because of the aura of the owner who does everything herself - it's obviously her passion and that does come across and to me as a customer that is important. She's very friendly, polite and I'm sure knowledgeable If you have questions.
We had the vegan chicken curry which I'd imagine is one of the dishes the owner is best at and was an extremely good facsimile of chicken in taste but especially texture. It had a lovely taste and a pleasant slow build in terms of spice. The portion was generous and I was satisfied after. My wife was also a fan - always important! One thing I might suggest is a slightly bigger plate as I found it a little awkward to keep my food on it especially at the start though obviously that's a very minor point.
Prices are obviously not cheap but not that expensive either - you will pay a premium for this type of cuisine the world over and the vegan chicken curry was still under 30rm which I think is a fair price considering - some dishes were cheaper - some a little more I think.
It's on the lower ground level of empire Damansara at heritage lane you can see it from the front down some stairs actually. I think it's location might mean it doesn't get noticed as much as it could/should plus it's quieter here anyway. A somewhat underrated area actually as quite a few good places still here. Easiest thing to do is park on lower ground (it's reasonable tngo parking) then just walk straight out into lower ground street level or obviously if parking in B2 just take the stairs up one level.
There's a few other interesting dishes on the menu I'd like to try as well as some home made vegan ice creams which looked good. We had our young toddler son with us and though it's quite a toddler friendly space especially as it was quiet it might be nice if there was a highchair - just a 50rm Ikea one would do as it might make it easier for parents while they eat. Definitely a place worth checking out If you're a vegan, interested in the cuisine or just fancy experiencing a different restaurant experience to the norm. I hope to...
Read moreI did not enjoy the meals and overall it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Starting of ,the meals were late by 1 and a half hour . Other than the phuture brand mala popcorn nugget , none of the dish looked similar to what had been advertise on social media, in terms of the appearance and the size . It tasted like regular frozen processed food which I can buy from supermarket vegan section . The ayam goreng wasnt coated at all , basically it was fried plant based protein chunks , super oily . As for the sausage , huge disappointment in terms of size , was expecting grilled or glazed sausage advertised unfortunately All I got was pinky finger size , non seasoned packet sausage 😕 My sister did approach them before they did , giving feedbacks , ( hangry effect) but i guess they felt offensive and were defensive .So apparently they explained and i understand that they found out the previous ayam goreng (the one that is advertised ) contain albumen(egg white) so they changed the products and maybe didn't have the time to change it on all the platform . As for the sausage i was craving for what they had advertised , kinda upset cause it cost about RM 10 for 3 tiny non seasoned sausage . Told them the food pictures doesnt justify and translate well even though its for illustration purpose. Then they went on to explain RM 10 for 3 (tiny) sausage is not expensive because they dont produce in scale like Mcdonald . and its almost impossible to turn a profit . AIyo i didnt compare u guys with Mekdi also , chill . If i want to compare i might as well just buy french fries la . Plus , it doesnt make sense to me when they explained they dont produce large scale like Mcdonald . Im pretty sure its not handmade and it comes from a supplier with a team or factory . I ordered freaking 3 pcs only la :[ The "ayam goreng" in my pic was put inside a bowl of the vegan spicy maggi , hence the red color because i waited 1 hour 30 minute for the food arrive from empire to sg buloh . but its okay , perhaps they are busy . I'll give it a try when the menu has...
Read moreI order lunch and dinner regularly from this place usually via grabfood due to the ease of delivery to my residence at empire residence as my preference. Would say that im glad that there is a vegan place around here in damansara perdana as i before this, it wasnt very convenient for me to adopt a veg diet because everywhere i go there is a lack of veg options. So now i am quite supportive of this veg trend as our world really needs this positive energy and i really love animals too myself since i was a kid. The most frequent dishes i get from halaveg are mums veggie, dineng deng, sarawak laksa, kolo mee and creamy carbonara. I tried their pizza before too, its vegan and so good and filling. Anyway i have watched dominion and thinks the world is too harsh on the animals and so vegan is definitely a...
