The name "Red Beanbag" is not a stranger in brekkie world. For one, I have been going to enjoy hearty breakfast there many times. After making Publika its home for so many years (since 2011), they have moved to bigger premise in Mutiara Damansara.

On good weekdays and especially on weekends, it's not uncommon sight to see people queueing outside to wait for tables. Mind you, they have ground floor and further space on mezzanine floor.. with a play area for kids so that adults can dine in peace.

◾Super Awesome Fry-Up RM39 was awesome indeed with 2 eggs your way (chose sunny side up because I love it that way); chicken sausage; turkey ham; mixed beans with minced lamb (now that's a first); sauteed mushroom; hash brown; cherry tomatoes with sourdough & homemade garlic butter. Perfect for sharing, however big eater can finish this alone. Breakfast fit for a king! ◾Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich RM26 was hefty yet packed with Monterey Jack, Gruyere, cheddar and mozzarella + chicken pepperoni, wilted baby spinach & homemade tomato chutney in between 2 grilled sourdough. Curly fries on the side. ◾Signature Baked Eggs RM32 with chicken chorizo, aubergines, tomatoes & potatoes, topped with melted mozzarella and served with toasted sourdough to wipe out those delicious sauce. ◾Basket of Fries RM15 even came with curly or skin-on options which we went for the former. Homemade aoili dipping came on the side. ◾Mini Churros Bites RM12 with chocolate dip for the kids. ◾Filter coffee is available for more discerning coffee enthusiasts, and they can see the roasting in action at times.

Wonderful atmosphere with stylish, modern, and spacious interiors (including a mezzanine level), excellent food, and top-notch customer service. The interior décor is clean and inviting, with an airy indoor–outdoor feel. Potted plants like ferns and ficus add freshness, while elegant wooden seating and thoughtful design details create a stylish atmosphere. Even the hand sink downstairs is beautifully set on a counter with charming motifs and decorative knick-knacks. The staff deserve special praise- they’re friendly, attentive, helpful, and great with both kids and adults. Kudos to the manager for leading such a fantastic team.

We ordered the burger, nachos, Caesar salad, eggs Benedict, mac & cheese (for my niece), and coffees (matcha lattes and lattes). All were consistently well prepared and beautifully presented. That said, the Caesar salad could be improved with the addition of some bacon bits (halal or non-halal, either works) for extra flavour and texture, along with a more generous serving of shaved Parmesan to bring out its flavour more.

I was really impressed with this place. The extras make it even better: free Wi-Fi for those who want to enjoy a meal while catching up on laptop work, and for parents, a beautifully decorated little playroom for the kids. The only drawback is that the upstairs seating isn’t very accessible for elderly guests, as the staircase is narrow and only allows one or two people at a time.
