Went there for the first time yesterday. Food was okay. Environment is fine as well. We were a party of 4 people. However, food took very long to serve. there was easily a 10 to 15 minute interval between each dish. When they first came and pour the soup into the bucket, they didnt turn on the induction cooker below. So we waited and waited for it to boil only to find out the soup base has cooled down. Then another issue that made the dining experience less than ideal is the handmade noodle which the waiter will "pull" for you to put into the soup. it was left there on the side table and the waiter said they will come back later and prepare it for us. after an hour they came in and wanted to prepare the noodle for us but it was too hard and he very conveniently turned to us and say you all left it here for too long now it's has lost its elasticity. How were we supposed to know? they said they'll come and prepare it for us. FINALLY this is what pissed us off the most is when we asked for the bill, the waiter came in with the bill of RM500+. We promptly paid but before leaving, we noticed that two items in the bill was not served (we ordered alot of things so we also forgotten about it). It was two serving of green vegetable. So we went to the cashier and told them that they missed out on the two vegetables so we would like to revise the final bill. We even apologised for not checking the bill properly before paying. Know what the cashier said? No Way you did not receive the two vegetables. I PERSONALLY delivered them to you! And she gave a face like we were there to cheat the restaurant off two vegetables. We insisted it was not delivered and asked her to go to the room and check. She went to the room to try to prove that we were trying to cheat them, but the room has been cleared by the waiter. So we asked her to check the remaining soup that we asked to "tapau" and when she realised there was not a single strand on vegetable in the soup, she just said OH I guess the vege were not delivered. When i asked her, I thought you delivered them YOURSELF ? she just brushed it off and said not me the other staff delivered your food how would i know and just walked away. In the end we got our refund but there was not a single apology from the cashier. Very rude. It would have been a pleasant experience but because of this cashier lady, we will not be...
Read moreThe menu is the same as per 张记木桶鱼but their offer is totally opposite. And ingredients option is lesser and standard of service is lower . Their service is not attentive, when I asked them when can eat , they responded “ when the clock alarm ring !” Second we order handmade noodle , but they didn’t pull the noodle as they don’t know how , when we ask them to put the noodle , they want to put as it is which is wrong, in the end they just pinch the noodle like pan mee. They have no idea what the heck they r doing . The management is really bad . We asked them to mid the sauce for us , they gave us 5 different sauce in 5 different bowls! That is not mixed sauce , that is we mixed ourself . Anyway , service is bad , quality is below average . If you really wanna eat fish steamboat , go 张记木桶鱼. I will never recommend...
Read moreFood was generally rather delicious. We all liked the soup base (we selected the original variant). Sauce and seasonings variety was quite limited though. Luncheon meat was quite tasteless even though they claimed that they were of ma ling brand. Beef was tough and lacked marbling although they charge RM68 per portion. Corn fritter and fried pumpkin cake was very delicious - can't really stop at just 1 piece. I'm just a little wary about how they clean the wooden buckets properly though, especially all the tiny holes around the top... not sure if wooden buckets even help in enhancing the taste in any way... total bill for 6 adults and 2 children came up to around RM450,...
