Honestly, the soup selection is quite limited, with only four options available. We opted for the stomach pig soup and herbal black chicken soup. However, both were disappointing. The stomach pig soup was overwhelmingly peppery, masking the actual flavor of the dish. It felt more like drinking pepper soup than enjoying the intended flavor. The herbal black chicken soup was below average in taste.
Compared to other local steamboat establishments, the soup bases here are lacking in variety and quality.
Moving on to the meat slices, particularly the beef and lamb, while they looked appealing with their bright color and uniformity, they lacked any discernible flavor. It's really taste like a kind of fake meat. It felt like we weren't eating beef or lamb at all, which was quite disappointing given the price we paid.
The pig liver slices were too thin and small, making them a poor choice. They didn't add any value to the meal and left us feeling dissatisfied.
As for the Spanich Iberico Jowl slice priced at RM 32.90, it was incredibly tough and rubbery, far from what one would expect at that price point.
The only saving grace were the black fungus and corn, which were relatively satisfactory.
For a meal that totaled RM 287 for two people, we expected much better quality and taste. We regretted not choosing to dine elsewhere for a more enjoyable experience.
Additionally, the outdoor seating didn't offer anything special apart from a view of PJ at night, which didn't enhance the dining experience in any significant way.
Overall, we were left unimpressed and wouldn't recommend this place for a satisfying hot...
Read moreMy experience fell way short of expectations. I booked a table personally in the late morning and specifically selected a table for 2 near the terrace. My table was given to someone else with the excuse that it was raining and the couple at the terrace needed a table. There were other tables available. Then after giving them our orders they took more than 10 minutes to even bring out the soup etc. Our water took even longer. When we asked for condiments we were told to get it ourselves. However we noticed that the waiters happily took the whole tray of condiments to the table next to us. After the "welcome" I got in the morning when I booked, I really expected much more much better service. Also they didn't even bother to check in on even once to see if we had enough soup. Maybe they figured our orders were not worth their time... And the food... we got the pepper soup and herbal black chicken. They looked good but the taste was too subtle. The other chain hot pot soup is much tastier. The meat balls were pretty good and the prawn paste as well but given the experience, I don't think I will be recommending this or giving it another try. After discussing with friends my experience, they convinced me that this place only...
Read moreWent to eat at this place on 31/07/2020. It's my 4th time eating here. I would highly recommend this place for 2 reasons. Firstly , the steamboat is really good. The tom yam has a good kick! Spicy like the real Thai one. And the other broth , the chicken one is good too. Taste very homely with lots of herbal condiments in it.
The second reason would be the EXCELLENT service. My mum was having bad headache and wanted to have a coffee along with a panadol before having her steamboat. When ordering the drinks, the owner/manager/( maybe just a person working there) Mr David said there is no coffee sold here. But he offered to walk over to McDonalds across the road to get it for us. I thought he was joking but he really did end up doing so. We were really touch by the lengths he went to satisfy his customers needs. I am 29 years old and have been living in Malaysia all my life . Never have I experienced such service at a restaurant.
This place is also clean.
DEFINITELY WOULD...
