Boulevard Chinese Restaurant 富 華 楼 — Restaurant in Sarawak

This place serves "non-halal" dim sum. The restaurant is tastefully designed and the dim sums are generally good. The price of the dim sums is a bit on the high side. But I am only giving it 1-star because of the extremely poor service. There are better dim sum places elsewhere.

After been shown to our table no one bothered to show us a menu or take our orders. You have to get up and physically stop a waiter to get their attention.

The service is also excruciatingly slow with a lot of mistakes made by the servers and kitchen. I received dishes I never ordered. Some dishes I ordered never turn up. And no one bothered to update the bill. I also noticed they do not update the order chit of dim sums served. So here is a tip for you - eat the dim sum, ask to clear the dishes and later claim the dish never arrived.

The table next to mine had to wait an hour before finding out their orders of expensive dishes were served to a different table who had eaten and left. And yet they were still asked to pay for the dishes.

So be careful and...

Good environment and a generally clean place. Looked and felt like an expensive fine dining Chinese restaurant (Wasn’t shocked when the bill came).

Portions were shockingly huge. We ordered for 10 pax but the leftovers could’ve fed another 3 more person.

Highlight dishes would be the Cangkuk Manis with egg, pork with sweet sauce and stewed tofu. Pretty good tasting and it went really well with rice.

Place wasn’t that packed because they only accepted reservations due to water shortage in that area (bummer, but at least it’s not crowded)

Will probably come back to try the Peking duck and the dim sum next time...

It was a wedding function; so no order for food was needed. This is a middle upper establishment & thus prices are expected to be on the high side. On that evening the dishes served were of high standard & I couldn't find fault with any item...the hosts presumably have a big budget. No comments on the service level until the next time I visit & order my meal. Can't wait to try their dimsum. As it stands, the ambiance is middle upper & the service should reflect this level...
