120230618 My first visit here. Its quite a small lot, luckily its a middle corner lot. When i was there, its about 11am and the place is already pack. wifey go for the mackerel fish noodle 1st and to our surprise , it is really good. The fish paste is fresh and not much starch added. for the pride RM12 per bowl, i would say it value for money. I order a kampua over my favourite kolo mee as i saw more kampua on the table of the patrons than kolo mee, so i trust the crowd and i am so right, it is good. The noodle is seasoned perfectly, and the portion is just nice. Love it. so good that we order another set to go. The kolo mee , i ordered as well, not the best but acceptable. As for the laksa, also so so. Its not easy to find a good laksa in Kuching nowadays.

Song Corner is a food court with plenty of good choices to start the day. Among the highlights is Ah Gan Kampua, well known for serving some of the best Foochow food around. Their kampua noodle is tasty and the pork liver soup is especially enjoyable, with the liver cooked just right and not overdone. Another stall worth mentioning is Sharon Handmade Noodle. We had the chicken mushroom and chicken chop noodles, both of which were delicious and comforting. For something hearty, The Breakfast Factory serves a giant breakfast set that is filling and very tasty.

More noodle stalls in a row than any encounter before. Nonetheless, it's Foochow dry wonton (Pian Nik) is good enough, even its accompanying soup has pork bones flavour. The Kampua is comparable to Sibu's Lian Yew Cafe; not oily and al dente. The liver soup is fuelled by Ang Chow (红糟), but not overwhelming like most; very subtle taste. This lady from Sarikei certainly has all the right moves to make the grade. Best Kampua in Kuching thus far. The 2st rice stall on the right sells pretty neat fare. Nicely presented and tasty too.

This post refers to Ah Kheng's evening stir fried stall.

Ordered 4 dishes and only liked the tofu topped with minced meat dish. Wasn't impressed with any of them actually. The mani cai was too dry, almost egg-less and some parts under cooked. The 排骨王 was just ok with a bland feel to it. The fish with soy sauce topped with garlic was basically just that. Pour a little soy sauce and place some chopped garlic atop it and that's it, even my nonexistent culinary skill is able to do that. Maybe we didn't order the right dishes? I can't be certain but what's certain is that the place is always packed at night. Perhaps the prices are really cheap so there's that. Also, here's one of the few places that I would much rather bring my own water than order drinks from. You'd basically be drinking flavoured water. A really bad...
