Kuala Selangor is well known for their fresh seafood with an affordable price. We chose this spot out of many as this had air conditioning. Trust me when I say you need the AC in Kuala Selangor.
fried lala noodle: 6.5/10. It was alright. Savory and fresh lala but was lacking the wok hei.
Fresh milk crab: 8.5/10 This was delicious with the sauce. However I’m more used to milky sauce. The milk sauce here has a little curry taste to it. We thoroughly enjoyed the crab but would have loved it if they crack off the pincers claw from the body for easier eating.
Fried mantis prawn w salted egg: 9/10 Can’t go wrong. Delicious big pieces of mantis prawn in a sinful salted egg coat.
Steamed prawns: 8/10 Fresh prawns steamed with some egg. Because the sauce was pure, it did not overshadow the prawn. -2 points as the ginger slices were cut too thick.
Fishball soup: 6/10 Didn’t taste like much. Fishball was standard. Nothing special. However we enjoyed the vege and tofu added in.
Total price: RM175 for 2 pax. This could feed 3 so we were happy w the price...
Read moreTried ; Spinach anchovy century egg soup was one of the nicest i have ever tasted. The century egg lent its flavour to the soup well, enhanced further by the flavourful anchovies . Making eating spinach so much more enjoyable Yam ring with honey glazed pork- i didn’t quite like this dish because of a hint of porky smell @ boar taint though the yam tasted good . Steamed fish teo chew style - fish was fresh and the flesh was firm. A pretty average dish 4 Curry milk crab - A rather enjoyable dish. Curry was creamy , slightly on the sweet side but it went really well with the crab . Service: We waited quite awhile for our food to arrive as the staff was busy preparing for a busload of local tourists Ambience This is a restaurant by the roadside and not your usual seafood restaurant on stilts with a view of the river, mud skippers, monitor...
Read moreOverall, I have a great experience dining here. We (10 adults and 3 kids) ordered 6 dishes including drinks and rice then it cost us about Rm 200++ . The seafood platter we ordered and Stingray Curry (Medium size) were below RM 40. It is worth for the price. I made a reservation as I was afraid there will no seats. Thank God, I did it. When I arrived there around 1p.m.++, the restaurant was crowded but they reserved one table for us.
Then the waiter brought us to a bigger table and comfortable place when she saw us squeezing ourselves in a table.
Kudos to their service. Waited for 45 minutes, then only we could have our food. It is understandable for the peak hour that we dine here.
Nothing I could complain. Overall, I am satisfied with the food portion, taste and price.
The restaurant is with air-conditioned.
Will visit this...
