I cannot fathom the raving reviews of this operator. The experience we had just last week was dismal. They were good to start what was meant to be a 1-hr tour on time which was great. The PFDs that were handed to us were quite worn out without means to secure them properly (there were only buckles in the front). and there was no briefing or demonstration on wearing them properly. Everyone was wearing them loose despite tightening the straps which was not enough to prevent them from rising above our ears when pulled up - rendering them useless in an emergency as our heads would be underwater. Boatman was erratic. 0 briefing. Moved vessel when people were still standing and made sudden accelerations which were dangerous. He couldn’t speak a hint of English either when approached. The eagle feeding on the itinerary was observable at distance although we didn’t get to see what they were feeding on as the boatman didn’t seem to be tossing anything up in the air or into the water… the time spent in this segment was quite a long affair. We returned to the start point only to change boat which the boatman had to jump back onto as it was drifting away with us when he hadn’t secured it and had left to have a smoke! We progressed to witnessing the fireflies after which were scantly spread out as the boatman was creating plenty of noise and wake in his approach until he lined up the boat alongside others on either side of the mangrove. Fireflies seemed v few in number difficult to spot from a distance in the water. all I recall was feeding the mozzies that were having a feeding frenzy when our boats slowed. The blue luminescence (blue tears) was observable only when the tiny nets they handed each of us were lowered to the water’s surface - catching onto the water - with the drag agitating the blooming algae and revealing hints of blue as the net dragged along the water. It was fairly amusing for a short while but got tiresome after a short while. It was nothing like the marketing pictures of this phenomenon. I wouldn’t recommend this operator for the lack of safety - poor boat driving to improper PFD securing straps and briefing to the actual observeable phenomenon with no English narrative to accompany that. Completely underwhelming tour which ended a half hour later than mentioned which usually means would have been a good thing but not in...
Read moreWe went for the package that had sky mirror, eagle feeding, fireflies viewing and ‘blue tears’ (bio-luminescent algae).
Sky Mirror: The person who drove us there was also our photographer! He was really good at taking good shots and is very professional. He would take a few shots of a group then ask for the next, making the waiting time seem a little shorter. He also made sure we were satisfied with our pictures & he has high standards! Our family was very happy with the pictures and we may be back to take more pictures!
Other than taking pictures, I really enjoyed the biodiversity of the place they brought us. It was the most active beach/island I have been to - hermit crabs, sea snails and other small shelled critters can be seen interacting with each other - just try not to step on them!
P.S recommended to wear slippers cuz they do not allow footwear onto the little island so your feet is gonna get wet and sandy!
Eagle feeding There was more eagles than we expected! Perfect place for birders 🥺❤️
Fireflies viewing To be honest, it just felt like I was looking at lights on a Christmas tree. Parents remarked that there are other places with more fireflies and darker environment. There is too much light pollution in this area and it wasn’t dark enough to fully enjoy it (at 7.30pm)
‘Blue tears’ / 蓝眼泪 If you have seen this on shores before, don’t bother. If not, it’s quite an experience! However, I don’t recommend this for families with small kids/elderlies/physically disabled. They gave us nets to “catch” the algae. It’s quite dangerous for small kids if they want to participate as it felt like they could fall off any time. The position you’ll have to get into may not be very comfortable for elderlies. The elderlies that were on the boat with me sat down after 5 minutes even though we were given a full 30 minutes to view it.
All in all, it was a great experience with Fun life jetty! One crucial thing that made us (2 families) happy was that no one got sea sick! Also, the boats used seems to be better in condition than other companies operating...
Read moreIf you go to Bukit Bintang with colorful buildings and Selangor with beautiful nature, you will realize that Malaysia is an attractive country. This place is about an hour's drive from bukit bintang, but it is a completely different landscape from bukit bintang. If you are going to visit here without using the tour package in your home country, you should consider taking a grab after the tour. Fireflies tours should be around 8 p.m., as you can see more on the darker it gets. I contacted them via WhatsApp before I left, and I was introduced to a trusted taxi driver. So I was able to use the round-trip pickup service at a safe and reasonable price. There is an affordable and delicious seafood restaurant in the short distance. Arriving before the tour starts, you can enjoy some alcohol and food while watching the river. Before the Fireflies tour starts, we wear a prepared life jacket and sit on a boat. And after the Fireflies tour, we come back to the dock and then start the Blue Tears tour without having to move around. Therefore, we recommend that you join the Fireflies tour and the Blue Tears tour. The tour is relatively cheap, unlike other Fireflies tours. Additionally, you can buy mosquito repellent at the dock ticket office at an affordable price. When the Fireflies tour starts, you are greeted by a cool river breeze to cool off. And when you arrive at your Fireflies habitat, you will see countless fireflies. This scene is more amazing to watch with your eyes than in pictures. It is as if numerous Christmas trees are twinkling. The sound of the water by the river and the fireflies' feast made everyone in the boat watch the fireflies with bated breath. A Blue Tears tour is a tour where you can see Blue Tears every time you use a tool to stir. I strongly recommend this place where you can see the various charms of Kuala Lumpur. I hope you all have...
