Horrible experience. Staff hospitality was horrendous, especially the female staff, did not get her name unfortunately. She did not know how to listen to a feedback we were offering so that they could do better with future customers. Waste of my energy only. She did not know how to use her ears to listen it seems. Only knows how to use her mouth and fight for no good reason. Spoilt the rest of the trip for us.
Here's the story. When we first entered the restaurant, we asked if they have lunch meals. They said yes and said we can pick from the whole spread of items they had (veg and non-veg). They said we would be charged according to what we take. When they served rice, we asked for half portion rice (for now) and did clarify with the staff that we would ask more later just so that the plate is not too cluttered. When we were served the items to have with rice, we asked if there was a standard portion for each the sides or we can take different items to add up to one portion. Eg: Instead of 1 portion of item A, take 1/3 portion of A, 1/3 portion of B, 1/3 portion of C. They said it's according to how much you take - SO HELPFUL RIGHT
So we took 1 small spoon of each item on each of our plates because we wanted to try the different items. When we took such small portions, none of the staff highlighted that we would be charged the same if we take 1 small spoon or 1 whole portion. We went as a family of 6. We could have easily taken all the items separately on different plates and then shared amongst ourselves at our table.
At this point, no one had told us the price of each meal or each item or how exactly we would be charged. There was no menu, no price board in the shop. SO CONFUSING
We finished eating and went to pay the bill only to realise they had charged full price for each of the side on each of the plate (that 1 tiny spoon each of us took) Felt like we were charged 6x of what we actually ate. We were charged for extra rice even though we said we'll take half portion now, and half later on from the beginning.
Really felt like they cheated us. But we didn't want the money back. We just wanted to give feedback on how they experience would have been a lot better for us if they had been clear from the start.
We went to give verbal feedback to the lady at the counter. She was unbothered initially and wanted to just refund the money - as though money could solve all customer satisfaction problems. But our point of raising the feedback was not to get the money back??? It was purely a feedback for a better experience next time. OH HER EARS ARE USELESS. Before listening fully to what we had to say she kept chanting "I don't understand I don't understand - in tamil" and calling the other staff to talk to us because she was not in the mood to talk to us?? WHY COME TO WORK IF YOU CANNOT LISTEN AND RESPOND TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WOMAN?? She kept raising her voice and would not listen when I said JUST STOP. She said "Get out!" and threatened to call the police.. like FOR WHAT? She even flipped all the notebooks she had on the table at me when I said no I'm not leaving until you stop raising your voice and just listen. I'm not here to cause problems, you're causing it to escalate for no reason. Seriously ruined my day.
Food: Don't go for vegetarian food. It's all mock meat. No real vegetables. Moor (buttermilk) tasted like plain salt water. Nothing...
