This restaurant makes you evaluate the the defination of the worst restaurant ever existed. My entrance to the the restaurant is greeted by two flies constantly accompanying me at my dining table.
With no one to entertain me, I have to get the menu myself, while waving so hard as if I am drowning to get the waiter's attention.
The waiter arrived as if I ripped him and his family of 200 million ringgit, obviously not satisfied when asked questions about the menu. Obviously, his impatience implied that I have given him a hell of a pain with those simple questions.
While I am still accompanied by the flies, the food arrived, along with my masala tea. The fantastic taste of masala remains in my mouth, first sip being as bland as water and the second sip having a hint of everything that is in a masala tea except masala and tea.
With the food being served, I could not help but to realise that the world is indeed still full of wonders. Food in this restaurant is still served colder than the peaks of Himalaya and the portion is not enough to feed a caterpillar. Vegetables served along the food look like they have been munched on by a goat and are regurgitated for my consumption.
This wonderful place deserves nothing but the best, except that the best is for it to close down.

Read moreThis restaurant serve authentic Indian food not the kind served in 'mamak' restaurant. So my review will be comparing to other Indian restaurant I have experienced.
I ordered rawa-tosai and have not yet tasted other food. The rawa-tosai was a little oily when it arrived but the taste was good. Combined with the dhall curry it makes a very tasty dish indeed.
For the environment I would prefer it to be open air as it was before the renovation. This is because it is a corner lot with two sides which can be open and airy. However the restaurant is now air conditioned and closed up which make the place a little boxed in especially when there are more customers seated.
Also because it was closed up, it look a little intimitating. In fact that was the reason I did not patronise the place after the renovation thinking that the prices might be over the top. It would help if they put their prices and menu on a board outside their entrance.
This was the first time I visited after the renovation. And I came at what seemed to be a peak time. The workers seemed disorganised and running about so it took a while before we were noticed to be served. The food also took longer than expected to arrive.
Otherwise the pricing was reasonable and food was good. I would recommend you give it a try esp the tosai.
Parking has always been good...
Read moreFood is good and despite the banana leaf vege variety served can be more than just 3 types, it's not a show stopper.
Communication can be a challenge but my colleague helped me out who also revealed that the special onion vege curry that they make on Fridays is called "vendey" but this lookalike is a different one called "pulkat". There is another one which uses a light green curry paste but the base vege can change from place to place.
Definitely will come again to try the other drinks like Karaikal coffee as one guide suggested earlier.
On the record, this place by far serve one of the best tomato based rassam. It won't please everybody but there are many variations in tartness and spiciness.
[Update 2021 Jan 8] back here again- food is just as good..go...
