Ki has the best binchotan charcoal yakitori in subang,pj! All the food are packed with heat and flavours. Must haves are their tiger prawns, wings, tori momo, saba, etc, the meats are so juicy and tender. Just order anything from the menu, you will be sold. Despite the grilling being done indoor, because of the method of grilling by using the high quality charcoal that is not smoky, you do not get the burnt odour while dining inside the restaurant. Not to missed out are the wide variety of craft beers and IPAs here. The beer pairs very well and enhances the taste of the food. The japanese beer are always well-stock. In my early regular visits to Ki, i had the chance to try almost all Hatachino Nest and Kizakura Kyoto beer. I had also tried a handful of mouth watering IPA, dark ale and sour ale here. All the noteworthy beers are well selected by the owners at times to introduce some bold flavours. If you have a preference or like to try something new, always ask for Nick’s recommendation. Some craft beers are limited in stock, you probably don’t get the same drink the next time you visit. Those dependable Brewdog IPA are always in stock unless being sold out quickly. Besides the food and drinks, getting to know the friendly owners of Ki Yakitori is the reason we keep going back there. We have become more like friends than just patrons. My partner and I had the loveliest date night at this cozy Japanese izakaya. The drizzle outside set the mood, and with no crowd, it felt so peaceful.

The menu is pretty limited, but everything we ordered was amazing. We had smoked duck, grilled shiitake, age gyoza (easily my favorite!), the surf and turf bowl, and some super tasty takoyaki balls. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and worth the slightly higher price.

It was such a great experience—delicious food, great vibes, and perfect for a quiet night out. Can’t wait to go back...

Gem of a find in Subang Jaya. Tasty izakaya food! From the beef sirloin, grilled squid, grilled salmon belly and mackrel served with rice. Every dish was really well grilled! Even my children lived it ans asked for more grilled salmon belly to finish their rice!

A nice cold beer and those grilled delights after a long day would be just perfect!
