I came here for lunch at MangoBox Puchong and honestly, I was impressed. I actually visited before during dinner, but this time I tried their Lunch Hour Special, and it felt like a totally new experience.
Their Nasi Lemak 2.0 series is something fun and creative. I had the Chicken Chop Nasi Lemak, which came sizzling on a hot plate – juicy chicken with fragrant coconut rice, such a satisfying combo. My friends ordered the Smoked Duck, Beef Patty, and Lamb Chop versions, so I got to steal a few bites from everyone (the benefit of eating in a group, right?). The smoked duck was aromatic, the beef patty had a nice bite, and the lamb chop was flavorful. Definitely not your regular nasi lemak.
During lunch hours (11am–3pm), they also offer a special where you can get mushroom soup or drinks at half price with any main dish. I tried the mushroom soup – they changed the recipe and now it’s thicker, creamier, and full of flavor. Honestly, it’s worth adding on.
Snacks were another highlight. The Cheesy Wedges and Cheesy Popcorn were great sharing bites, but what really caught my attention was something on the menu called the “Ex-Girlfriend Prawn.” Yes, that’s the actual name. It’s cheesy prawns served hot and fragrant, but with a name like that, you can’t help but laugh while ordering.
The environment here is cozy and casual, perfect for lunch with colleagues, family, or friends. It’s also a nice spot to hang out and lepak a bit longer after finishing your meal. Service was friendly, food came out hot, and everything tasted good.
Overall, MangoBox is a fun and affordable lunch spot with creative dishes that make the classic nasi lemak feel fresh again. I’ll definitely come back – and maybe bring more friends so I can taste everything without feeling guilty about...
Read moreThis is the fourth and latest Mango Box outlet. The other three being at Kepong, Old Klang Road and SS2.
Had visited the SS2 outlet months ago. Food was good but the stench from the discarded durian shells coming from Durian Man behind was unbearable. Revisiting was out of the question no matter how good the food was.
Visited this latest Bandar Puchong Jaya outlet today to enjoy the value-for-money sizzling chicken chops minus the durian rubbish stench.
Ordered two chicken chops in hainanese and mushroom sauce respectively.
Same good quality as SS2's -- fresh, tender and succulent. Grilled nicely and drenched in flavourful sauce, accompanied by crispy french fries and mashed potato.
Enjoying all that in a cosy, air-conditioned cafe-style ambience with nostalgic 80s tracks playing in the background. Certainly enhances the dining mood and appetite when eating western food especially.
Open daily 5pm -2am.
Toilet Score: Acceptable

Read moreWent for a late night meal with hubby recently, HE HAD A DIARRHOEA after he ate the "Chicken Katsu Burger". The chicken katsu was actually a thin PATTY and UNDERCOOKED. He didn't finish because there were RAW BITS here and there, but still got a diarrhoea. Also other stuff were bad - fries was hard to chew, salted caramel coffee didn't have any hint of coffee but overly sweet sugary liquid, bolognese sauce and cherry tomato had weird taste (lucky I stopped at one bite). It's a total disappointment and waste of time, money (not expensive but still money) and most importantly, health. BE CAREFUL if you want to try their food. I would...
