Review for Q House, Taipan USJ:
Q House is an absolute delight, surpassing expectations and delivering an experience that leaves you wanting to return. Despite visiting on the second day of opening, the wait was just around 20 minutes, even with a queue ahead.
The establishment is fresh and inviting with a comfortable, cozy ambiance, a feat they achieve even at full capacity. A notable standout is their vast SKU, offering a tantalizing range of options that span from Hong Kong to Sichuan, and from Western to Italian. From the comforting simplicity of Creamy Mushroom Soup to the intriguing Cordycep Herbal Chicken Soup, the diversity in their menu is impressive.
While I'm usually skeptical of places that offer a sprawling menu, Q House manages to impress with its quality. Their "Hand Tear Cabbage" scores a flawless 5 out of 5, and the interesting twist on the Kohlrabi ABC soup stands out among their delicious side dishes.
The Mushroom Soup, a solid 3 out of 5, satisfies cravings, though the garlic bread could do with some improvements. The Nestum Salted Egg Chicken, with its robust flavors, the right touch of sugar, and aromatic curry leaves, is a definite must-try.
Q House doesn't disappoint with its beverages either. The difference between their local Milk Tea and Taiwanese Milk Tea is noteworthy, with each having a distinctive, pleasurable aroma.
The only flaws is the location, bad traffic and hard to find parking depending on your luck.
In conclusion, Q House delivers an outstanding experience and earns a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars. The challenge now is to maintain this quality consistency. They've made it to my list of regular spots, and I highly recommend it for a dining experience that's...
Read moreFood actually tasted good with big portion. But service have too much to improve.
When we just came in we sit near to the kitchen. The narrow space was already causing the noise to echo, making it particularly loud, staffs were THROWING spoon and forks so loudly like orchestra,or like a temple chanting ceremony., I felt I'm getting headache from the sharp sound of the metal hitting noise. why can't they do this in kitchen, even hawker center don't have noise pollution like that. It's very disturbing, I could not stand it and moved to the table nearer to the front side. It was already empty since we came in. But after we done our order, for 3 times. Repeatingly sending the wrong food to our table. 1st time it's lemonade, we said we didn't order. 2nd time it's another drink. 3rd time it's boba. I couldn't stand and scolded the waitress then only it stopped giving the wrong items to our table. Why couldn't the manager train them to please double check the order before putting down the food. I feel like they're throwing down the food and leaving and have to stop them form leaving, then only they look at the order. It is the waiter job to double check whether the meal is correct before they left, and not letting customer keep telling them 3times that it is wrong, and I really dislike the dirty trolley moving beside us, it is already so narrow, I feel like the dirt will somehow get onto me which is also disturbing. That's all.. Hope the spoon orchestra can stop as the talking sound is already loud enough, and the waiter can be trained to double check before throwing a wrong food on the customer table. luckily the...
Read moreSeafood Spaghetti – 7/10
A decent plate of seafood spaghetti with a generous portion of seafood. The pasta was cooked well, but the overall flavor could use a bit more depth. Perhaps a richer sauce or a slight tweak in seasoning would elevate the dish.
Asam Stingray Rice – 8/10
This was easily the highlight of the meal. The stingray was fresh and well-marinated, absorbing the tangy and slightly spicy asam sauce beautifully. It paired wonderfully with the rice, making each bite flavorful and satisfying. Definitely a dish worth coming back for.
Kids’ Meal – 7/10
A simple, no-frills meal designed for little ones. While it was portioned well and kid-friendly, the noodles tasted quite similar to a typical economy fried noodle. A little extra touch—perhaps a unique seasoning or sauce—could make it stand out more.
Pudding Dessert – 8/10
A sweet and delightful way to end the meal. The pudding had a smooth, creamy texture and just the right amount of sweetness. The kids absolutely loved it, which is always a good sign!
Final Thoughts
Overall, the meal was enjoyable, with the asam stingray rice being the clear winner. While the seafood spaghetti and kids’ meal could use a bit of refinement, the flavors were still decent. The pudding was a crowd-pleaser, making for a nice finishing touch. Would we return? Yes, but with hopes of slight improvements in certain dishes!
