Have seen the place advertise their sang har meen and had wanted to try it. So I dropped in at this restaurant early, just past 5.00pm because this place seemed to be quite a popular restaurant and SS18 can be a difficult place to find parking during peak hours. There were nany tabkes available when I got there, but even before 6.00pm the tables were dast filling up already.
I ordered their sang har meen and also a serving of their siamese steamed lala. Am happy to have found another place that served many lala dishes.
The sang har meen was cheaper than other places but was not as tasty. The prawns were much smaller than the ones I am used too and I found the noodles too fine. I guess you get what you pay for. I rather go 5 doors down to have the sang har meen there because, even tho pricier, it tastes much better and I enjoy it more there.
The siamese steamed lala was a delight - pleasant sweet sour taste and because it was steamed, there was some soupy gravy to it with lots of chopped buts of pickled vege. Very reasonable price for the dish.
Good service - the waitress was helpful when ordering n also when I asked for extra ice. She saw that the cup of ice I was served was not full and offered to get it filled up full. Happy with my ice. However I was charged RM0.28 for the ice 😅. No big deal, but mist places give me ice for free.
All in all, a popular place, reasonably priced dishes and a good place to come for dinner to have...
Read moreOne of those established neighbourhood Chinese "big fry" eateries and this place fits in that profile squarely. Having been around the SS18 area along the row of shops facing the main road puts this shop as an easily recognisable eating shop. And especially during weekends when there's a queue waiting outside waiting for a table, this place is popular.
Many of the visitors and regulars are actually from out of the Subang Jaya housing area and come by for big dinners especially with friends and relatives. Fortunately service here is fast and you'll only need to wait for a short while before your orders arrive. The food served is piping hot and fresh off the burning wok. There's plenty of wok-hei when you taste the food. All in all a very very enjoyable dinner and as always highly recommended that you come by in a big group to order and enjoy a variety of...
Read moreA simple, no fuss Chinese restaurant that serves dishes to go with your rice. It has been around for many years now, serving the local Subang community.
Parking is not a problem here, and finding a table too. It's never really that crowded during peak dining hours as the flow of diners are quick. That's probably due to the speed in which your dishes are served after ordering.
The food here is OK, slightly above average. Most of the dishes here are flavourful and goes well with a hot steaming plate of white rice.
Preparation of fish dishes are also good. You can have many choices of how you would want your steamed fish to be "dressed", whether in Kam Heong or soya, or even nonya style.
All-in-all, it's a good family type restaurant, good for the quick meal at a...
