6/5/25 3.30am. today very quiet. Staff clearing up. Nasi lemak ayam was smaller than usual today, only left drumstick. Still same price as from 2024 RM11.50
25/3/2025 3.20am and still loads of people here. Ikan bilis is now hard instead of light and crunchy but ayam goreng is still divine and served hot. Sambal has gotten spicier also.
When it's past 2am, the best place to get a decent rice meal or Indomie Goreng is in Darulsallam. Been here for decades in various degrees of dirt, noise and ingrates. If you're smart, stick with nasi lemak. Surprisingly fluffy santan rich rice, generous amounts of crunchy deep fried anchovies, crispy cucumber and creamy centred sunny side up egg for RM5.50. The ayam goreng is good too. Sadly spaghetti Bolognese was cold soggy pasta that had the mouthfeel of bleh, like noodles soaked and forgotten in a bowl.of.lukewarm water. The sauce had minced meat but did not have any seasoning, no salt, no herbs, no pepper. Stick to the tried and tested.
Indomie Double RM8.30 really IS just Indomie with the sauce...

WHY 1 star... mainly because their service, even like kinder garden service, even kinder garden can make you laugh, too bad they are just grown-up men.
MY PAST Experience: the service at the up-stair is the worst of all the mamak i went in my life.... one table, every time we order something, you have to wait 3 times when you called them AND your food have 50% it will gone wrong even is a single order... tht is not even picked hour.... PICKED hour: they will ignore until basically you are going to be mad at them... thn they will serve you like nothing happened....
SUMMARY: good food but the service too terrible till you can see GOLD CHILLI beside is full house at night Darussalam. is kucing dua tiga... anyway is a personal experience with a personal opinion....YOU 're...
Read moreThis place USED to be a happening mamak place with a GREAT service. Since they change their worker (they used to have this one guy we called mata kucing because his eyes are like cat eye, was very good who always kept his eye on any customers who needed any help), this mamak restaurant is not so service oriented any longer.
Also, their iced milo and tea-o WAS so good that normally I would order 2 glasses each time I'm here. But that was long time ago (early 2000), now their iced milo tasted like watered down iced milo. The taste is no longer like it is used to be.
One thing though that still okay is their nasi lemak with fried chicken and IndoMee.
Normally it is hard to find a parking space here during weekdays and weekends night time. If you come in the morning during the weekend, there will be plenty parking...
