I have been patronizing this Hokkien Mee establishment since it's early days when it was just a humble stall located a few hundred yards away in a coffee shop along where it's current biz is.

Unfortunately prices have gone up (RM9/plate of whatever noodles, single meal) but the ingredients that go with it have been reduced to a pathetic portion ration. You get a few broken bits of vegetable, and.... 1 prawn the size of the joint of my pinkie finger. Yes, that 1 little prawn is and absolute absurdity.

The price of a reasonably sized prawn from NSK the last time I checked is RM0.30-0.40, so guess what if they tell u that prawns are so expensive. It's total baloney.

I'd suggest to the owner or his family members to either include more prawns(2-3 is reasonable), but it looks like the other similar competitors located on that street practices the same pathetic penny pinching food costing.

Ridiculous, greedy and ultimately shameless mentality of most small Malaysian...

Visited this restaurant few times. At first foods and services were good, but today totally disappointed.

The yue guang ho has burnt scent and the lala soup full of tiny burnt stuff. Asked the male waiter why the lala soup got so much of this tiny burnt thing inside the soup, he didn't say anything and just took the lala soup back to kitchen. After 10 mins++, he came back and served us with the same lala soup again. We were so speechless. What is he doing in the kitchen in that 10mins? The waiter just leave the lala soup on our table without saying sorry. Then the young chinese lady just playing her phone, didn't even notice about our issue. Tauke just sit at outside and drink beers.

Food bad. Service bad. Won't visit this restaurant anymore.

Not...

Tried a few dishes from them, these are what I have to say:

  1. Hokkien Mee - A little plain and the fried lard wasn't crispy. If you are looking for some better tasting one, go for the corner restaurant down several blocks (beside 7-11).
  2. Kung Fu Sang Mee - Gravy drowns the noodles so they are not crispy. Got shrimp/ prawn in addition to pork and vege so not too plain. Not the best I had.
  3. Char Kuay Teow - Had the one with a raw egg on top. Helps to smoothen the texture but meat seems a tad flavorless.

Price-wise, close to RM10 per noodle dish per person.

Bright environment and air-conditioned. Overall tastes are not too bad but there are better...

Although opened late, the Hokkien mee (RM15) is certainly cooked by a foreign cook who puts in the right ingredients including lardons but fails to deliver a fragrant well braised version of the iconic noodles found a block away at the popular Chinatown version which closes early. Latecomers are best to skip this alternative shop that could not even serve a decent bitter gourd bahki soup (RM13). The only consolation is a happy go lucky crew of Myanmar waiters who were constantly jovial. Sadly that did not translate to serving a delicious supper.

Quite disappointed with the food quality served. Hokkien Mee is fried all black but lack fragrant and pork lard pieces. Beehoon is hard unlike Al Dante. Fried rice is sprinkle with too much pepper and lost the taste. Fried chicken wings and pork have too strong the taste of fooyee (preserved tuofo). I'm surprised of the crowd patronage. Am I getting a different chef in the kitchen that day? Many review the food is good. I would not recommend. Hygiene is an issue. Lady at the counter has an attitude issue.
