1-Star Review: Shockingly Poor Service & Discriminatory Treatment😡 My recent experience at this establishment was hands down the worst dining encounter I've had in Malaysia. As F&B professionals operating chain restaurants ourselves, we're appalled by the systematic service failures.
As a local Malaysian and my friend, who has been living here for 6-7 years and is well-integrated into the community (we both own cars and are familiar with local customs), we expected a pleasant dining experience. However, what we encountered was far from it.
We went for a late-night snack without bringing our cards, before ordering we upon asking, the employee confirmed with the front desk manager that scanning payment was possible. Halfway through our meal, the manager abruptly demanded payment, insisting that scanning wasn't possible and only card payments were accepted because Maybank was under maintenance. This was confusing since we were initially told scanning was an option.
Moreover, when my friend inquired about the change, the manager dismissively said, "This is how 'we' do things in Malaysia," which felt like a direct slight, especially given our long-term residence here. This resulted in a 45-minute delay as we struggled to find an alternative payment method, including attempting to transfer money to TNG, which was also not allowed.
On our second visit, we were surprised to find that WeChat Pay was accepted without any issues, which directly contradicts the manager's earlier statement. This inconsistency in policy is frustrating and unprofessional.
Additionally, upon arrival, we were not allowed to use the outdoor barbecue grill because it was supposedly too late, yet another group that arrived 30 minutes later was permitted to use it. I was puzzled by this inconsistent treatment.
When my phone battery died, and I couldn't complete the payment, the front desk refused to provide a charging cable or outlet, which I found astonishing as someone who works in the restaurant industry. Basic courtesy and preparedness seem to be lacking here.
We were also denied seating inside despite there being available tables and people still dining, and were forced to sit outside. The staff seemed eager to close up, as they began collecting outdoor chairs well before closing time, making us feel rushed and unwelcome.
As we left, the staff glared at us as if we had overstayed, even though we hadn't, and no one bid us goodbye.
If I could, I would give this place zero stars. The concept of an open-air dining experience is great, but the service quality is abysmal. There were numerous instances of differential treatment and what felt like discrimination. I strongly advise avoiding this...
Read moreVery beautiful and aesthetic place, you can choose to sit indoors (with aircond) or outdoors (for view of the tents, sky view). We went at 6pm and there was quite a lot of people already by then but still some spaces to choose and sit. Didn't see any mosquitos, maybe because of the high level and its windy up there.
We saw a small birthday celebration at one of the tents (seats 8 pax) when we were there.
Seats are pretty low, it's quite ok for short people like me (153cm) but definitely uncomfortable for taller and older people. We saw many small and cute doggos around but no worries because they have to wear their diapers.
Good selection of food, and everything we ordered was tasty too! Although, the skewers were the smallest portion I've ever seen - the meat is so thin and small but the mushroom skewers were not bad. The coconut drink was very refreshing and cold, especially good because we chose to sit outside and we're amazed that the coconut water remained cold for the many hours we were there.
Staff was attentive and helped cleared our dishes when we're done. They were helpful to take pictures for us too, thank you so much!
There was a long line of people waiting to dine in when we left, so if you want to have dinner, go early. But maybe go later if you want to lepak until...
Read moreLocated at highest floor of One City, i dont like coming here because the building layout is confusing and rundown.
Seating indoors and outdoors. I came around 6pm on a weekday, no queue and managed to get the last table outside.
Order a minimum 3 skewers and you get the bbq pot to skew yourself. Seems fun but i forgot im a terrible chef, most of the skewers are overcooked.
I prefer when they cook it for us. Ask for lesser cumin seasoning then it wont taste so MSGeyy.
White Peach Oolong Claypot Tea (rm25.90); interesting but expensive and refillable.
King Oyster Mushroom (rm15).
Pork (rm15). Pork Belly (rm15). pork slice is too thin like taugeh especially pork belly.
Taiwan Sausage (rm15).
Chicken Chop Black Pepper Sauce (rm23.90).
Skewers are expensive for the miserly portion.
Brush provided for skewer is disgusting, its blackish brownish, like rust or leftover sauce or overused brush or maybe its supposed to be like that for extra flavour. i geli but i still eat.
Cant sit for long as chairs are incredibly low and uncomfortable but i think its good to try at least once for...
