Just dined in here on 2 April, 3.15pm.
Service review: Services are exceptional. The waiters assisted us on how to order and navigated us through the menu. Real nice, no question about it. They even helped to celebrate birthday together with us which, I really appreciate.
Atmosphere review: Clean and bright with nice air conditioning. It just that the door was left open wide which got some flies came in. The flies was a big langau type so it caused a little bit of inconvenience when they managed to land on the table (expensive restaurant shouldn't have flies yknow). The restaurant may need to ensure the doors are closed after customers already went in and out.
Food review: Ordered few meals with two pieces of wagyu beef ribs. Most of the meals are really nice. It just our set of beef ribs seem to be not of the same quality. Both are wagyu beef ribs with marbling grade 3+, however one of it was really easy to peel with just a fork, while another had me really struggle to cut a piece with a knife. I do notice that during the time we were choosing the beef ribs, someone else was also selecting a beef rib which of a grain fed kind. When I had the trouble during the meal, I asked the manager why my beef rib isn't similar to another on my table, which he answered it may be of different part of the rib (dude, both are beef ribs, both are wagyu and both are marbling 3+. how come satu beef rib tu liat sangat bro. berbeza sangat tu bro. belum pernah lagi makan wagyu beef rib kena struggle pakai pisau untuk potong tu, biasanya pakai garfu sahaja dah cukup untuk tarik daging tu.). He did offer few solutions whether to serve another meal or request the kitchen to help cut the piece. I had to refuse the solution because the two pieces of wagyu beef ribs were the last stock available, and I only want same kind of beef rib if it were to be replaced. I appreciate his offer, I speculate that my meal might got switched with the another guy's beef rib, but what the restaurant manager said maybe true so I shall accept his answer in good faith with a grain of salt. Expensive restaurant shouldn't have technical issues yknow.
Went to the counter, boom paid RM600++. Rasa bitter sikit kena dengan harga ni lepas menyirap struggle potong beef ribs tu haha. Peritnya rasa tak dapat habiskan...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this Meānate branch on 2nd May 2025. Upon arrival, I noticed the staff were only allowing customers with reservations, which luckily we had. However, I think this couldāve been communicated better. Many walk-in customers were turned away without a clear explanation. When one customer asked why, the hostess vaguely mentioned there was an issue with the cashier system being offline, so they were only accepting reservations. Strangely, when we paid at the end of our meal, the cash register and card machine were working fine as we paid by card. This made it quite puzzling why others were turned away earlier.
Iāve been to several Meānate branches across different states, and one thing Iāve always appreciated is the consistent experience and familiar quality. Unfortunately, this branch felt very different. The service, in particular, stood out in a negative way. The female servers didnāt seem very welcoming, and one even placed a drink on our table quite abruptly. While I understand that staff may have had a long day, the lack of warmth and enthusiasm was disappointing.
As for the food, it wasnāt up to the usual standard Iāve come to expect from Meānate. The nachos had a strong-smelling cheese that was quite pungent, possibly a different type than whatās usually used. The ribs, while marinated, were noticeably dry compared to other branches. Oddly, they were served with mashed potatoes instead of the usual curly fries, which threw off the familiar experience we were hoping for.
Overall, our visit was underwhelming, especially considering how much we usually enjoy dining at Meānate. We were excited to try the branch from our hometown, but unfortunately, it didnāt meet expectations.
I would recommend improving customer communication, ensuring consistency in food quality, and encouraging the staff to be more approachable and friendly as it really does make...
Ā Ā Ā Read morehad a really bad experience here last night. I came for dinner with my family, and this was actually our second time visiting. When we arrived, we waited at the counter like the customers before us. But then, we noticed the customer in front just walked in and sat down, so we thought maybe it was okay to do the same.
Not long after, a female staff came to us and in a harsh tone asked, āDid you book a table?ā We said no, and she immediately grabbed a cloth and water to wipe the table with an angry face. Then, she went to the entrance, kicked something really hard just to take the menu, which shocked my whole family. Was it really wrong for us to just sit down, when we saw others doing the same?
My mom got upset and asked her politely, āCanāt we sit here? Why do you have to bang things like that?ā The staff only answered, āWe are short of staff,ā with no apology at all. Honestly, if the restaurant is short-staffed, should customers really be the ones to bear that frustration?
We were really disappointed. We are repeated customers and have spent quite a lot here before, and we used to get good service. But what happened last night was unacceptable. If this had happened to other customers, Iām sure they would have reacted angrily. Please donāt treat your customers this way. We understand if the place is short-staffed, but thatās not an excuse to treat customers this way. Really hope this doesnāt...
