Ordered steamed ginger fish, fried pork meat stuffed yam basket, sweet potato leaves, 2 big rice, 2 ice kosong. We were then still hungry after visiting the daily held Sha bandar Ramadan bazaar, which is 2 mins walking distance. We googled to find this Chinese restaurant that has a high rating. Once seated, we talked to the lady in charge, asking the steamed fish a little more details like what fish, how much, what cooking etc , also checked the yam basket, the vegetables. She told us rm7.5 per kilo and rm 35~40. So we would expect around 500 grams by math. It was not usual the Song fish, different fish, which had a much less flesh unfortunately. And the most important thing is the size, wasn't around 500 grams, maybe less. The ginger flavor and a little lemony tangy flavor is nice. And the yam basket wasn't cook inside the yam paste, just shaping and fried in way too quick. So its totally cold inside the yam ring paste. So my English husband spitted it out and we called the lady to replace a well properly cook as piping or at least hot to enjoy the yam ring. The sauce is just nice. Not much pork meats though. The sweet potato leaves is delicious as it's simple dish, lightly fried vegetables so. The most surprising thing is the fish price turned out rm 46, not below rm 40(around 500grams)! By math, the fish should have been served over 600 gram at least. But we highly doubt it was over 500 grams even. So the total we paid reached to rm 89 including rm30 for the yam basket, vege, rice, water. Since we were there for calming our yet hungry stomach down, it was achieved, but TBH, the quality for the price, we weren't happy...
Read moreAlways here for the dinner. Popular among the locals so it's always full. You can order dishes with rice or ala carte (fried bihun, wat tan hor, dailok mee etc). Overall, food is tasty and with very reasonable price . Personally I love its gururou (咕噜肉),勝瓜豆腐(highly recommend this!),four heavenly kings (四大天王), asam nyonya fish, 乾煎蝦璐,and fried squid. Food is cheap. rm10 for vege which is enough for three to four persons. Environment wise it's just a normal old kopitiam, and cleanliness could be improved. You can choose to sit at indoor or outdoor. If you choose outdoor, please be ready that there are some mosquitoes. Plenty of parkings...
Read moreDined here for the two nights our party of four was in Kuala Terengganu, and enjoyed the food immensely. Helped in our menu selection by the dynamo manager who didn't try and up-sell at all, and impressed with her work ethic even on the quieter of the two nights. Steamed fish and fried fish amongst the excellent recommendations of nine dishes; delicious! And the tofu, silky smooth and tasty plus... Prices seemed reasonable for local fare (very affordable (cheap) compared to what we might pay at home) especially for the quality. Good service, but busy one night so you may need to book. Two great...
