Ive got a lot to tell about this hotel. First of all the hotel is very strategic place. Its easy to go anywhere you want in Kuala Terengganu. The staff is friendly. Their meet n greet is top notch. Very good attitude to present to the guest how good is Terengganu people. The hotel lobby is grand. Very rich. The decoration is good, an eye opening. Kuddos to the Grand Puteri team Kuala Terengganu. And now comes the bad part. Im staying at level 3, room number *. 3 days 2 night. The room is a lil bit smelly because of the rug i think. The bathroom plus toilet not really comfortable. They just divide the shower space with the toilet only with the curtain. So when you go for a shower the water splash all over the place. Not good for the family that have a small children. A lil bit slippery and very dangerous. The pressure of the water pipe is too strong. You could shoot up the roof! You need to be careful. The lamp table over at the bed also very dangerous for the kids because of the edge of it. The room I stayed got no room slipper, extra pillow, and proper laundry bag. They just give me a trasparent plastic for the laundry and everyone could see what is inside. The cupboard door is also a problem. It sound too loud when you closed it. And now the WORST part. The room got a lots of cockroches! Last night i killed about 5 of it. Very unpleasent. It maybe got inside the luggage and i just brought it back with me to home. I saw the room service cart got a 2 3 bottle of roaches spray. So i guess they have know they got a roach problem. The room is not enough clean by the time i check in. It got dust all over the cabinet, and some left over food by the last guest. Under the bed is also a filthy. You gonna found lots of rubbish under there. I saw it when i was looking for my keys. And now the BEST part. The breakfast. Their breakfast is good and got lots of local dish. I attached the picture below so you can see the food. Overall i give the hotel 3 stars. YOU NEED TO GET RID OF THE ROACH...
Read morenormally before going on a holiday one would surf to book a hotel, I would usually read people's reviews on blogs. The scenario lately, is the blogging era is dying. if we google it, not many bloggers would do a personal review on accommodation ( sites like trivago, tripadvisor, does not cover much, all of which are more commercial). I like to read people's experiences in all the places they have been.
Dear bloggers, please write more reviews in your blog entries on accomodation.
As the social media now has improved such as fb, instagm, where people find it's easier to upload photos and tell stories there, blogging has reduced in content, as most would flock to the latest application. but for most of us , if we want to find something, we would google first.
and normally google will go to websites and blogsites first before going to social media sites. I mightbe wrong here.
I make this entry for anyone looking for accommodation in kuala terengganu.KT has many hotels in fact.but top hotels like primula, grand con, tanjung vista are most of the time sold out, especially during school holidays or festive holidays.
This time we choose to stay at Grand Puteri Hotel, Kuala Terengganu. This hotel is under the ownership of JAWHAR-MAIDAM (religious council in Terengganu) so the hotel has an Islamic concept, the price is very affordable with many amenities. The shops are very close, mostly at walking distance. the location is at the city center (near the white mosque area & bus station. KFC is also close). Parking is plenty. The staff are polite n helpful. Room condition is normal. We enjoyed our stay and would...

I booked a night here after Googling and reading plenty of rave reviews about the location, buffet breakfast, and rooms. Sounded like a safe bet—turns out, not quite.
Location (10/10): This is the one thing the hotel absolutely nails. Right smack in the middle of Kuala Terengganu’s busiest area—if you can call it that. Almost everything is within walking distance, so convenience-wise, no complaints.
Buffet Breakfast (2/10): Honestly, the only thing worth mentioning is the quirky door gift—a pack of Gardenia bread, mineral water, and a soy drink. Everything else? Cold. The half-boiled eggs, egg toast, and nasi dagang all sat there lifeless. Since it came with the room, I went through the motions, but if you have options outside, skip it.
Room (3/10): Either the mosque speakers are extra loud, or my corner room was built right under them. The whole room smelled like wet carpet mixed with dirty socks. The TV was smaller than my PC monitor. Bed was just about bearable, but the pillows were thin and weightless. The bathroom was the real dealbreaker—dirty grouting, zero soundproofing, and a shower design that floods the entire toilet floor.
Verdict: Book here only if location is your top priority. Sadly, in Kuala Terengganu, choices are limited—no condos, barely any Airbnb options, and mostly seaside chalets or homestays. Just don’t bother with the breakfast. You’ve...
