The Buddies Cafe — Restaurant in Terengganu

Seen many good review so decided to try since i goggled this is muslim owned cafe. Clean n almost cosy feel cafe. Menu quite a variety fusion, asian and western from appetizer to dessert n mojito drinks. Staff were attentive. But foods serving quite slow. Summary from what i ordered: Creamy tomyam pasta - delicious. Flavourful. Tomyam taste not overpowering and the creaminess just right. I love it! Tacos - erm. This needs major improvement. Taste very bland. Very basic too. And theyre using tortilla wrap not the real taco. Why? Idk. ask them. Nasi lemak fried chicken - the sambal was salty. Even the rice was quitta salty. Not sure what went wrong here but u know men dont complaint much. Food not wasted. But i dont feel satisfied. 😒 Churros - saw good recommendation but turned out they were js not for us. Too thick. Taste floury. Not crunchy but hard crunchy. If to compared with my fav Mr churros, they sure fell very far below the par. They should improve the recipe or i just better dont order again nx time 😆

Good environment overall, but I like to share my experience for improvement purposes:

I ordered the chicken croissant, but unfortunately the chicken was not very tender, making it hard to slice, and it lacked seasoning n the drinks took almost 30 minutes to arrive because the receipt wasnt delivered to the bar. fortunately, after I asked the staff about it, I received my drinks within 5 minutes.

Came back after a few years (moved out from KT). Ordered chicken parmigiana, mixed grill, 2 kids’ spaghetti carbonara, and churros. First impression, nothing special. The chicken parmigiana was too rich, couldn’t finish it. The kids’ carbonara portion was honestly tiny, didn’t expect it to be that little — for RM10, it was really plain.
