Skyfall Lounge & Restaurant — Restaurant in Malé

The view was stunning. Other than that, there really isn’t anything else that makes this place stand out. I ordered a lime juice, the limes tasted old which seems weird in a country with an abundance of limes. The food was average, you don’t go to Maldives for the food, but it wasn’t any better or worse than you could get at any number of places around Male. Only one out of about 10 staff could speak English so everytime you asked for something, even simple like can I have the bill (accompanied with a hand gesture) you would be told to talk to her and they would point at the one person who could speak English and than just stand there while that one person did the work of all the staff on duty. The worst part was they do not offer a non smoking area. So whilst enjoying your average meal and drinks with an exceptional view, anything this place had going for it was ruined the moment the cigarette wafted over. The view is great, if you are a smoker or enjoy cigarettes ruining your meal and you are comfortable waiting for the one staff member doing 10 people’s jobs to come help you, this is the place for you. Came to have a drink as she wanted a seated space to have a drink. Recommended her to try the place as its was almost full moon night. Less people compared to our previous visit so was able to score a table on the first floor. Got a table behind the facade facing the airport view. Was served with menu and water upon seating. So we placed our order for drinks, skyfall multivitamin fresh juice (tasted meh) and hot hazelnut latte (tasted good). When inquired after 30 minutes on why the delay in serving the drink order and was told that the Bartender was busy. But people who came later than us was served so most likely forgot. We got served a cold latte when we ordered hot. It got changed quickly to a hot one. Service staff is not attentive, keep seeing customers raising hands to get their attention. 10th floor of a private residence, it’s a rooftop restaurant nearby Defence hospital. When we went one half of the restaurant was booked for an event. The lift is super slow and it’s really small, had to wait a long time to go up and also come down. They had another seating area which was off limits, don’t know why. Staff is slow, asked for an ice cream but it took ages to get just one scoop of an ice cream 🍨. Some stuff on menu aren’t available which they don’t tell before giving the menu, only when you order they’ll tell, Submarine I ordered was super basic, expected more, even from a roadside place you get better sub.
