Lazeez Gourmet — Restaurant in Malé

Went Lazeez Gourmet for the first time with wife and friends. Let’s give a very honest review! One by one…. The table we sat was just in front of the toilet door. This is even not permissible by Food & Drug Authority, plus this is very unhygienic. Is this gourmet standard? The food trash bin was just near the cash counter. The leftovers from the plates got emptied to 2 small bins near the cash counter. They do not even have a lid. Anyone who enters the restaurant can see and smell from this 2 bins. Hummus was very good and the bread & rice was good, too. Other than hummus and bread and rice, there is nothing good at all. The food is not authentic Arabic. What do you mean by Arabic? Arabic food has a thousands of verities! Which country or segment does Lazeez Gourmet belong? Palestine? Turkish? Lebanese? I really couldn’t figure it. The meat was horrible. Specially the kabab was spoil! It tastes very bad and can easily smell that it is spoilt. And the thin panini was also spoilt. The meat was too old or was not properly handled. That is why it tastes yuck! We even complained to the Bangladeshi waiter, which he didn’t bothered much. Must be a common complain, I bet! The waiter came 3 times and reminded us of “we are going to close the kitchen” in a very rude way. We also know there will be a time for the last order. But it is not nice, especially at a gourmet restaurant to come 3 times and remind us on that. No proper training to the waiters. Lastly, the food was overpriced! We also understand at a gourmet restaurant; prices won’t be cheap. But with all those cheap ingredients (specially beef and chicken from the very cheap brands) used, the food at Lazeez Gourmet is way too much overpriced!
