Subject: A Regrettable Stay at Maagiri Hotel, Male

I wish to recount my recent stay at Maagiri Hotel in Male, an experience that regrettably left me feeling deeply dissatisfied. My intention in sharing this review is to shed light on the issues I encountered, in the hope that others may be spared from a similar disappointment.

I had made a reservation for a Junior suite at Maagiri Hotel, enticed by the allure of a 400 sq ft spacious room and the promise of a private balcony. More importantly, I had booked a Junior suite with certain expectations befitting such an upgrade. However, my stay at this establishment turned out to be nothing short of a disaster.

Firstly, the room I was allocated bore no resemblance to the size that had been advertised. Instead of the spacious retreat I had anticipated, I was greeted by a room that was barely half the size of what was promised. This blatant discrepancy was disheartening, to say the least.

To compound matters, the balcony door was found to be inoperable; it stubbornly refused to open, denying me the enjoyment of fresh air and the picturesque view I had eagerly anticipated.

To add a further layer of discomfort, there was a half-dead fly on the bed upon my arrival, a sight that did little to inspire confidence in the hotel's hygiene standards. Furthermore, I was disappointed to discover that the in-room entertainment options were severely lacking, with neither Netflix nor YouTube available on the TV. These modern amenities are expected, especially in a Junior suite.

My frustration reached its zenith when I approached the front desk to voice my grievances. I requested to move out of the hotel after just one night, as I felt cheated and no longer wished to squander my precious holiday moments in such subpar conditions. However, my plea for a refund for the remaining stay was met with arrogance and disregard.

The culmination of these disappointments has left me deeply regretting my decision to book a stay at Maagiri Hotel. I implore anyone considering this establishment as their holiday refuge to exercise caution. My experience was marred by misleading descriptions, a lack of cleanliness, unmet expectations, and an alarming lack of responsiveness from the hotel staff.

Lastly, I feel compelled to mention that while I was expressing my dissatisfaction to the front desk, a Caucasian male guest eavesdropped on our conversation. When he realized that the front desk had dismissed my request to leave, he shared a similar tale of disappointment and merely shrugged, further underscoring the consistency of issues at Maagiri Hotel.

In closing, I urge prospective guests to reconsider their choice and explore alternative accommodations in Male, as my stay at Maagiri Hotel was far from the tranquil and enjoyable experience I...

Modern, Boutique hotel conveniently located behind the Male ferry terminal and near the new bridge.

This new 10 story hotel has an open terrace with panoramic views on the top floor with an adjoining restaurant. There is also outdoor spiral staircase giving access to the restaurant in the 9th floor.

The Faru restaurant on the 2 floor is where the breakfast buffet is served. They also offer undercover outdoor dining on the terrace which overlooks the ferry terminal.

The rooms are a good size with all the usual modern conveniences. The queens size beds are extremely comfortable. Only two rooms on each level actually face the ocean whilst the remaining rooms lookout to other buildings.

There is a gym somewhere but I couldn't find it during my exploration.

On the negative side there is no hotel information or room service menu provided in the room. The rooms are quite noisy due to the steam of boats at the ferry terminal which keep their engines running. There is also construction noise going on next door.

There is no pool or beach access.

Overall a nice hotel if you need to stay on the main island of Male...
